I am an occasional customer at this location and also work as a DoorDash driver as a side hustle. On December 16, 2025, between 4:00–5:00 PM, I arrived at this store to pick up a DoorDash order. The order was not ready and required additional waiting time. Since I received another higher-paying order, I cancelled the pickup, which is fully within a driver’s right under DoorDash policy. There was no issue at that time.
On December 17, 2025, I visited this location briefly to use the restroom. During this visit, the store manager approached me and questioned me about why I cancelled the order the previous day. I explained that the wait was long and I accepted another order. The manager insisted that I should have informed him before cancelling. I made it clear that DoorDash drivers are independent contractors and are not required to report cancellations to store staff.
The interaction escalated unnecessarily, and the manager told me that he did not want to see me in the store again. This is inappropriate, as I am a delivery driver and may legally return to this location if assigned an order through the platform.
More concerning, while waiting at the store on December 16, I observed a serious food safety issue. A man who appeared to be associated with the manager was inside the food preparation workstation, eating an ice-cream cone, licking it, and touching food preparation equipment with the same hand. Shortly after, a woman entered the workstation area, and the ice cream was shared between them inside the food preparation space. This occurred in an area where customer food is actively prepared.
When I raised this concern to the manager, his response was dismissive, and he stated that he did not care and again told me not to return to the store. As this is a Dairy Queen franchise with dine-in seating, customers reasonably expect proper hygiene and food safety standards.
If proof is required, the security camera footage from the stated time and date should clearly show these events.
I am raising this concern because food preparation areas must remain sanitary at all times. The manager’s conduct, both in terms of food safety and professionalism, raises serious concerns about how this location is being operated and whether customers are truly being served fresh, safe food.
To the employer, please review the security footage and address this matter properly. The manager needs to be educated on professional conduct, respect toward customers and delivery partners, and his actual duties and limits of authority.
Customers place their trust in Dairy Queen, a well-reputed brand, believing they are receiving clean and safely prepared food. Please do not allow that reputation to be damaged due to arrogant behavior or poor hygiene practices.
I am choosing not to return to this location after what I personally witnessed. This decision is based on firsthand observation and the manager’s dictatorial and disrespectful conduct.
