I had such a great experience at this location because of Hayden. She helped me find a few items and repeatedly looked in the back for me which was so kind. Her attitude was so welcoming and patient. Thanks Hayden!

Wanted to give a shout out to this place. I am impressed by this particular store and location. I don't know why they do this (and not more businesses), but these every so often, it can be a couple of times and even multiple times a week will go and drop off food items that are close to expiry and even slightly past expiration (but in safely edible condition) in the back alley area of where the plaza on 128th and 96th ave. What makes this special is that it's a neighborhood that houses families who are low income and indigenous. This is how a business should be, unlike the greedy Loblaws owned No Frills and Shoppers Drug Mart who would rather throw food and grocery items away, or even try and sell it past expiration at full price. I am in fact disgusted by how No Frills in particular would just leave rotting carrots for sale, and let it go that bad, than giving it away to someone who could use it while it's edible. Bravo to Save On Foods, at this particular location.

I may not shop at this Save-On-Foods branch all the time, but every visit has been a pleasant experience. The store is bright, well-maintained, clean, and very organized compared to other supermarkets. The fruits and vegetables always look fresh, and there’s a great selection Canadian and some Asian products. The staff are nice and helpful, and I’ve never had any complaints during my visits.

I usually enjoy shopping here for the selection, but the customer service has become incredibly discouraging lately. The biggest issue is the atmosphere at the checkout. It feels like a chore for the staff to even acknowledge your presence. During my last few visits, I wasn't greeted or even looked at while paying. The cashiers often look visibly upset or annoyed to be there, which makes the entire transaction feel awkward and unwelcome. I understand everyone has bad days, but a simple smile or a "hello" goes a long way in retail. It’s hard to justify coming back when the staff acts like you’re an inconvenience to them. I hope management takes some time to focus on basic hospitality, as the current "vibe" in the store is pretty miserable.
