- SJSolly JohnsonJan 31, 20261.0Firstly, if I could give zero stars I would. I walked into this Papa John’s to place an order in person, as I had never been there before. The young woman behind the counter was on her phone, wearing a Bluetooth headset and actively talking while holding the phone in her hand. I asked for a menu and told her I was new to this location. She handed me the menu, and I placed my order verbally while she entered it into the iPad. After that, I observed her pull her phone from her pants pocket and appear to send a text. She then grabbed pizza dough from a cupboard and placed it on the machine to be flattened. While the dough was being flattened, she again took out her phone and appeared to text. She then removed the dough from the machine and brought it to the counter to apply sauce with a ladle. At no point did I observe her wash or sanitize her hands between handling her phone and handling the food. Given the lack of basic food-safety practices, I was extremely uncomfortable and decided to leave without completing my order. Cleanliness and hygiene are non-negotiable in food service. This experience was disappointing and concerning.
