  Very disappointing experience at this Save-On-Foods location. Staff member Penny was helping a senior who had a toddler with them at the checkout. While assisting them, she noticed another line forming at a different counter where the customers appeared to be white. She then stopped helping the senior mid-transaction and moved to serve that line instead. The difference in how customers of different skin colours were treated was very noticeable and made the situation feel uncomfortable and unfair. We raised this concern with Assistant Manager Craig. He did not check with Penny about what had happened, did not investigate the situation, and no apology was offered. All customers deserve equal service regardless of skin colour. When a senior and child are left waiting while others are prioritized, it raises serious concerns about fairness, equity, and staff training. Management should review this incident and ensure respectful, consistent service for everyone.

  If I can leave a zero star, I will. I always buy a whole half sockeye salmon fillets here for my family size but this time, it was not what I expected I bought this sockeye salmon fillet at a store-acclaimed sale for $4.99 per 100 grams, today, Feb 10, 2026 at Save On Foods Terra Nova Shopping Centre, Richmond, BC. I was furious because the upper part ( area near the chopped head) was cut and being sold at a regular price. This is just plain NONSENSE!!! It is obviously a strategy to make more profit!! Come on!! A lot of families want to buy the whole fish fillets. This is not a third world country, for goodness sake! STOP THIS GREEDY MALPRACTICE! Who knows if the price was on sale or just the regular price?? Then I was about to pay for my stuffs and the checkout out machine displayed, “Assistance log in needed” I waited for 1O minutes, got annoyed, went to the Customer Service person to complain and she said, I did not see you. “ The red light was blinking for 10 minutes. How can that be? The quality of this Save on Foods Terra Nova branch is unsatisfactory.

  Shopping at Save-On-Foods is a mixed experience. On the plus side, the store is usually clean and well organized, with a decent selection that covers most weekly grocery needs. Produce, deli, bakery, and household aisles are easy to navigate, and you can usually find seasonal items and local products alongside the basics. That said, consistency can be an issue. Some trips feel great — fresh choices and stocked shelves — but other visits you might find key items out of stock or prices higher than expected compared with other grocery stores nearby. Customer service varies by location and shift, so sometimes the staff are friendly and helpful, and other times they seem rushed or hard to flag down.

  Watch out for the expiration dates! I guess management doesn’t know or care about what they sale. Best before 2024? Seriously?

  Clean supermarket with decent service. Very standard supermarket overall. If you want to waste time on the Edoko/Katsu San wait list, this is a perfect place to repurpose your time.
