  Outside of the fact that everything in the store is between 15-35% more expensive than most other grocery stores in the area when not on sale the selection is Great. If you wait for items to go on sale, they are usually close to the regular price of nearby Wal Mart and superstore. However, the convention location, fresh produce and excellent baked goods are what have people , myself included still shopping here.

  I went to Save-On Foods on Domano in Prince George, BC to pick up some cinnamon buns tonight to satisfy my sweet tooth. It costs about 25% more for food there than Walmart, but I wanted to support a BC company, so I was willing to pay more. As usual, they were a little cheap on the icing. So, like every other time, I'd go to the bakery to put extra icing on. 100% of the time they would accommodate me, until tonight! When I asked, there was a boy, who appeared to be 12 years old, working behind the counter that refused, stating that they were out of icing. When I told him where the icing could be found, based on previous requests, he then stated that he was not qualified to apply extra icing. I wasn't sure which lie of his to believe, so I asked him to ask someone in charge if they could accommodate me. The young boy then went to a female adult, with what I assumed was my request for extra icing. That's when I saw his female superior laugh, then turn away. The young boy came back and said he could not accommodate me. So I left the cinnamon buns on the counter, left the store, and went to Walmart to buy cinnamon buns there instead. It's one thing to lie to me about asking for a little more icing on my cinnamon buns to accommodate my sweet tooth. But to laugh and disrespect me as a regular Save-On Foods customer, willing to pay extra to support a Canadian company, that was way over the top. As a professional person required to maintain a high standard of quality in the work that I do, I would have fired both employees, on the spot! For the premium Save-On Foods customers are required to pay, I expected better!

  Can't recommend shopping at the spruce land one- there's an old lady that hates her life and she makes sure youre miserable too.
