It was my first time visiting the boathouse, and I made a reservation for a table on the 'heated patio' to celebrate my mom's birthday and I also called ahead and asked for a note placed on the reservation to make sure we are seated on the patio. The only reason for choosing this restaurant over all the other options was the advertised 'heated patio' which according to the photos seemed quite nice and scenic.
When we arrived, I gave my name, time of our reservation and the size of of our party who were all standing there. The greeter seemed puzzled and unwelcoming, directing us to a table somewhere else. Mentioning the patio request, she first refused saying there are no available spots, she then walked us over to an overheated indoor area with empty tables and offered to seat us at the very back away from the fireplace. After about 10 minutes of awkward back and force, it turned out that she had us mixed up with another reservation for a party of 10.
At that point she agreed to seat us at the front of the overheated indoor space, and when I asked for the fifth time about the heated patio, I was finally told this is it!
We went with the same table to at least have the ambiance of the window fireplace, which made the entire experience intolerably hot and uncomfortable.
The food and the wine were mediocre and overpriced.
The server was friendly but failed to mention she is throwing in a birthday treat, I'm guessing to make sure we order all the dessert we were going to, which meant an extra creme brule that was paid for with no room left to eat it!
I would not recommend this place and regret not going somewhere else for the special occasion I was hoping to celebrate in a nice ambiance.

Came with husband for early dinner today. We sat in the patio, beautiful view and cozy fire place. Food quality has improved, prices have increased. Our server is cheerful and attentive. Pay parking outside the restaurant. We would like to suggest to the restaurant to offer at least a 2 hours complimentary parking to customers. In Coquitlam, we can have free parking for almost all restaurants.

Food is priced higher than expected but is excellent quality and well cooked. The waitress was pleasant and professional . The nighttime view of the lights in the inlet was one of the better views in the GVRD.. All in all a good meal in pleasant surroundings and worth the cost.

My wife and I had lunch on Oct 30. I can see three tables including ours. Pls see my comment not as complaint but honest feedback.
We order caesar salad with salmon, cheddar cheese burger, chowder soup. We asked not to include onion in burger; onion was included. Only three tables, and such small request can be forgotten / missed? Burger meat was too dry. Taste was fine. Chowder was too salty, waiter said that is normally the case with seafood chowder; what a response. lettuce on salad not fresh; salmon was fine. Summary: food is not bad, but does not match the cost and the expectation of fine dining restaurant.
Comes the payment of bill. On the bill printed: customary tips as 15 %, 20 %, tips is discretionary. On the credit card machine, it shows 18% as start . I asked about 15 % (I did not feel service and food deserves higher than this minimum stated). No such option, can choose customary. So I put down 9 dollars ( yes, mistaken calculation of 15 % of the bill) . And you can see the waiter was not happy, but definitely in control still. Only he must have found it hard to say Thank You as simple courtesy to customer. We did not hear it.
I recommend Canadian restaurant owners learn from Australia restaurant owners. They pay their waiters and waitresses a good salary so they do not have to depend on tips to supplement their income and so less pressure for them and customers. When eating in restaurants have to face pressure about tips and become an unhappy experience then it certainly will discourage people from eating out ! Simple as that from customer's perspective.
