The food was great. The place was clean. The person taking orders at the counter was distracted talking on the phone (taking an order, which doesn't result in the best service). But someone in the kitchen had the sense to point out that a line was forming.
And the meal made up for that slip.

I basically threw $20 straight in the trash. Worst burger I’ve had in my life. Raw jalapeños, cheese not even melted, stale bacon that was clearly pre-cooked and had zero flavor. They don’t even give you a tray. they just dump your food in a bag and serve it like that inside the restaurant. Unreal.

During the promotion, I placed an online order in advance and arrived close to the scheduled pickup time, but ended up waiting almost an hour. It seemed like that’s when things started to go wrong.
I genuinely felt bad for the staff.. they looked overwhelmed and were just nonstop cooking without much communication. I’m not sure if the online system has any limit to prevent too many orders, but it clearly didn’t work in this case.
The lack of updates made the wait frustrating. Even a simple acknowledgment or apology would have helped, though it’s possible they had already been doing that earlier in the rush. When delays get this extreme, it might be better to pause incoming orders rather than continue accepting more, especially at the counter. I even heard that walk-in orders were being prioritized over online ones, which defeats the purpose of ordering ahead.
That said, the food was still good as always, even though my order sat on the table for quite a while before being completed.
I hope management takes a closer look at situations like this.. not just for customers, but also to better support their staff during high demand promotions.
Leaving 4 stars, but I hope they truly listen to feedback and make meaningful improvements to their system 🙏

The After Party promotion was a really bad joke, like something out of Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. Waited over an hour along with like the worst mob crowd at the counter I’ve seen outside of Asian countries, and couldn’t even cancel my order because they kept telling us different things like oh your order is next and it’s just 2 more minutes — lies! The app will keep telling you there’s a 8-13 min wait but it’s actually an hour. Don’t fall for the trap!
There were only like 4-5 people working their bones off at peak dinner hours with no organization whatsoever, so it was terrible to watch this entire thing. The little manager dude was super rude and only started showing up on the floor towards closing. Like seriously if you think about it, he’s supposed to have at least planned and “managed” this thing in advance, so he’s definitely responsible for this entire disorganized mess. Like at least update the app’s estimated time of pick up so people are not tricked into believing they can get their order in 10 minutes. Or like have more staff with a quicker order turnaround and a more efficient like some sort of assembly line or something, or have like 3 lines set up — 1) for those who ordered directly in shop, 2) for those who ordered from the app (but first come first serve or something since y’all like to make it fresh), and 3) another line for delivery drivers. Seriously figure out some sort of prioritization system if you’re going to offer something like this!
So if your still reading this… unless you want to wait for like over an hour and you just have time to burn, or your like super loud and vocal and demanding, cus definitely saw some customers yell their way through to get their order quicker… then by all means, knock yourself out!

Worst customer service I’ve experienced.
The staff did not honor the Customer Appreciation Day promotion and instead seemed to intentionally avoid offering it. The shorter employee with dark hair working around the 7 pm shift, along with her coworker, turned off online ordering for the promotion and repeatedly told customers it would be back up in “15 minutes.” When I returned after 15 minutes, they said the exact same thing again without any real explanation.
Management was also rude. I understand it was busy, but misleading customers and making them wait instead of simply explaining that the promotion wasn’t being honored is unacceptable. This promotion only happens once a year, and it felt like the staff deliberately avoided it to make their shift easier. They were even laughing in the background while customers were waiting.
They easily could have honored the promotion or handled the situation professionally, but chose not to. To make matters worse, the cashier was repeatedly touching her hair while handling orders, which is not very hygienic.
Very disappointing experience. I won’t be returning. * they better not respond with the generic “we’re sorry about your experience and provide me with a link that leads nowhere. Wanna make it right actually do something about this!!!
What is the Five Guys story/How did you guys get your name?
Five Guys began its pursuit to redefine the global burger landscape in 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell asked three of their sons whether they wanted to start a business or go to college. Now, three decades after our first location opened in Arlington, Va., Five Guys – a fast-casual restaurant chain named for the Murrells' five sons – serves a classic take on hamburgers, fries and milkshakes in more than 1,700 locations across 24 countries.

Does Five Guys offer delivery?
Most North American locations offer delivery. The best way to find out if the location nearest to you offers delivery is to visit our website or download the app.
Does Five Guys offer gluten-free options?
The only products we offer that contain gluten are our buns, hot dogs (Canada only), HP sauce (UK only), and the malt vinegar condiment for our fries. In Canada, our Poutine Gravy condiment also contains gluten. All of our sandwiches, including burgers, hot dogs and the veggie sandwich, are available without a bun via our wrap or bowls.
While our crew members do all they can to avoid it, there is always a risk of cross-contamination. Please review our nutritional, ingredient and allergen chart for the most accurate information.
Why does Five Guys have peanuts for free?
Serving peanuts for free began as a way for people to pass the time while they waited for us to cook up their meals (way back in the day, before smartphones). It was such a hit, and has become such a Five Guys tradition, that we keep our stores stocked with peanuts to this day.
What is the best way to reheat leftover fries?
Leftover fries are excellent reheated in the oven (or Air Fryer). According to Chad Murrell, one of the Five Guys, just pop them in a 350-degree oven for about 10-15 minutes.
Also, give those leftover fries a try as hash browns, home fries, or even as the filling in an omelet.
Why is Five Guys switching from a fry cup to a fry bag?
We are switching to fry bags to ensure your fries stay fresher and as part of our larger commitment to the environment. The bags allow air to circulate better, so fries stay fresh during delivery and takeout. Same portions, same great fries – just smarter packaging that’s also better for the environment.
