  ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 star) I had a very disappointing experience at the Save-On-Foods location at 1470 Prairie Ave in Port Coquitlam on the night of March 13, 2026. Around 10:45 PM, I had finished my grocery shopping and went to the last open checkout to pay. My items were already on the counter when I realized my phone battery had died. Both my More Rewards card and my debit card are stored on my phone, so I briefly asked staff if there was any way to charge my phone to complete the payment. They said they could not help with charging. I then asked if I could go to my car for about two minutes to plug my phone into my car charger and return immediately to pay. A staff member said I had about one to two minutes. When I came back shortly afterward, the doors had been locked and the supervisor at the entrance refused to let me back in to complete the purchase — even though my groceries were already at the checkout and I had been actively trying to pay before closing. As a result, I had to leave without the items I needed that night, including some supplements and medication. I understand stores need to close on time, but the lack of flexibility and basic customer consideration in this situation was very disappointing — especially as someone who shops there regularly and has a More Rewards account. I hope the store management reviews the situation and considers handling similar situations with a little more understanding for customers who are genuinely trying to complete their purchase before closing.

  The people at this location are just fantastic. The ladies that work in bakery are helpful and willing to pack fresh baked goods if you ask politely. The cashiers even in morning are pleasant, humorous and in good mood. The location is clean w good parking and great location on the intersection. The prices are not great so docking one star for that, but that is issue across many other locations and stores. Fruits and veggies are often higher price than at local market. Otherwise the staff are the reason I enjoy coming here.

  They can't be bothered to clean, stock and maintain the washroom here, so they just stick an "out of order" sign on the door and call it a day.

  Jan 27th at 7:26 pm Cashier 00062. I used the self-checkout counter and was a bit confused about the correct PLU number for grapes, as the number listed under “grape” on the screen was different from the number printed on the bag. I asked the self-checkout attendant for help, which I believe is reasonable given how confusing produce codes can be. Unfortunately, the staff member assisting at the time, Feri, responded in a rude manner and repeatedly sighed, which made the interaction uncomfortable. I understand that everyone has busy or stressful days, but a more patient and respectful approach would have been appreciated.
