We come here quite often for the classic breakfast, which is why today’s experience was disappointing. It’s Sunday at 11 a.m., yet we were only offered the dinner menu and a $35 holiday brunch set. When I asked for the usual breakfast I always order, I was told it’s not available because of the holiday.
This doesn’t really make sense from a customer perspective. Limiting options and raising prices during holidays risks pushing away your regular guests, the ones who keep coming back. We came expecting the same experience we’ve always had, not a restricted and more expensive version of it.
It’s also hard not to notice that nearby breakfast spots are full, with lines out the door, while this place is relatively empty. That alone says something.
I hope you reconsider this approach. Consistency and accessibility are what build loyal customers, not short-term pricing strategies.

Server was Awesome.

Like many other recent reviewers, I do not understand why this place has low overall score. Is it something from the past? I came here during Dine Around Vancouver period qnd the food tastes amazing, plated well and huge portions for the price.
Actually, my first visit was alone the day before the event start but I was too hungry from travel to wait and order two entrees that night. It was so good, I am convinced to return for the Dine Around where I came with a fellow union member. Both of us had a wonderful time.
Now whenever I'm in the area for union-related business staying nearby, I usually come here to eat.

The Gf and I were staying at the hotel near buy and dropped in for happy hour and breakfast.
The happy hour experience was alright but odd. I ordered a beer and some oysters, because they had $3 and $4(premium) oysters. The server informs me that they only have the $4 oysters. That's ok, I've got a budget of $15-20(for oysters) so I order 3. They arrive nicely displayed of a bed of ice with 3 different sauces and some graded horse radish. Way more condiments than necessary for 3 oysters. Not a big deal. The waitress then informs me these are in fact the $3 oysters and not $4. Ok, I'll have 2 more then(they are really good Fanny Bay Oysters). Another large dish of ice and all the condiments with 2 more oysters is brought to the table. It seemed incredibly wasteful. The server was hard to get when we wanted to pay the bill she just kept walking past us.
The next day the GF and I went down to restaurant for breakfast. She order the waffles and I got the eggs benedict. My meal gross and service was terrible. The server brought us half full cups of the weakest coffee I've drank in a long while. I wasn't asked how I wanted my eggs poached. I blurted out "medium" poached. the server paid no attention. The eggs came soft poached, and eggs were of the poorest quality(yellow, thin and watery yolks). The holindays sauce was thin and tasteless. And the ham was gross/cheap tasting(like the ham on an egg Mcmuffin). Both the GF and I's meal came with some roasted potatoes then had obviously been heated up from the night before. I was unable to finish my benedict and didn't bother with the potatoes. When the server came around I explained how awful it was, she said she would see what she could. a few minutes later the manager came over and I had to explain again how bad it was. I felt by the way she was looking at me that she thought I was lying or something. She didn't say much "Oh, ok" and walked away. They did remove my meal form the bill, but that didn't really remove the sour taste the whole experience gave me. Looking back it explains why it was empty on a Sunday morning and there was only 1 server for the whole place.
Summary: Lovely location by the water, overpriced, gross food and poor service.

I was there for a work office party. The "pre" appertizers were good but my appitizer, I ordered soup and was not hot. When we ordered the steak and prawn choice you did not get to choose how it is cook. I like mine medium rare and my husband likes Chicago rare and was told only medium. My coworker said she likes hers Medium rare too. Well, when the steaks came mine was larger then the other 2 so I was a bit luckier but my coworkers was well done and my husbands was tough. The prawns were horrible. The creme brulee for dessert was just ok and the cheese cake was creamy. I have been to many other Boathouses with the preset menus and I have never been told I can not order the steak to my liking. This unfortunatley was the worst experience.
Also the staff must be trained how you put a steak knife on the table correctly. The waiter put the knife with the sharp point towards us and the handle towards the table center. That is incorrect and dangerous. I have never been severed the steak knife like that and it was not just my knife but the others too. IF you work in the restaurant industry you should know how to set the cutlery on the table.
I will not go back to this loaction.
Very disappoiting for an office party. will not happen there again.
