What genuinely surprised me was at the checkout. The young teenage boy cashier was very polite and professional, finished scanning my items and simply asked, “Would you like a bag with that?” That small question honestly caught me off guard, because in the last few years at places like Superstore, Walmart, and others, I can’t remember the last time anyone even asked. You’re usually left juggling everything on your own. It may seem minor, but that moment really stood out. It reminded me how important good customer service still is. We need more young people like this working in our stores—kids who want to work, want to help, and take pride in doing the job right. If this young man keeps that attitude, I have no doubt he’ll go places. Sometimes it really is the simple things that make all the difference.

I stopped before I saw her coming and she still ran into my cart but I didn’t have time to back up. She’s the one running around when the store is not busy. I appreciate calm shopping experiences and not high strung rudeness. She seemed to be working the self checkout when I left and I gave her a smile goodbye.
