I went here this past weekend and was dissapointed with the changes in food there was. I have bedn going here since it opened and as I know some changes are to be made in price I was surprised by changes in quality and wait times. You used to be able to get two sides and now only one with an upcharge for most options (with prices going up I was disheartened to see this), and on top of that the food itself was not nearly as good as the times before it. Not sure what was going on but the portions were significantly smaller and the food was a little bland. Im guessing there might have been a change in store ownership/managment but I am saddened to see this as there isnt many good places to eat in westshore and I think they may have fallen into the ladder category. On top of this it wasnt super busy and took an hour for our food to come out, and with only two people eating I was extra dissapointed at this. Sorry to say this place is a pass now.

The worst lettuce wraps I've ever had! Heavy with sticky, soggy noodles. Light on veg, chicken and nuts. Romaine lettuce was wilted.
Partner had a tasteless Crispy Chicken handheld. Zero sauce on the bun, over 'crispy' chicken and then the dregs of the French fries. Terrible meal over all.

This was by far the worst experience. The service was extremely poor. The server seemed completely disengaged and unsure of what she was doing. After placing the initial order, I literally had to walk away.
When we asked for side plates, they were forgotten, and when we asked again, we were given used plates. When I asked to place an additional order, she asked me to wait and only returned after five minutes to take it.
A little courtesy, basic etiquette, and a simple smile go a long way. Better service would make a big difference.
Shame on you!!!!

I had ordered the French onion soup and it was not served hot. Unfortunately for some reason our waitress had disappeared and once she returned, the rest of my party had finished eating. The place was not that busy so not sure if it was a lack of staff.
In fairness, I had last been there in August, and the food was steaming hot and service was phenomenal. So....I will go back and hope this was just a one off.

At first we expected just a better Mr. M*ke's, but this place blew it clear out of the water !! It was so unbelievably good that my wife and I ended up spending twice as much as we expected, 'cause we couldn't get enough!
We had the poutine and calamari appy, and for our entrée's we had the Whiskey BBQ Burger and the Kona Burger.
The poutine was so savoury and such a nice large portion for an appetizer; the cheese curds weren't super noticeable and were small, but it was overshadowed & not missed by the absolutely delectable gravy & fries. The calamari was also such a wonderful plate of flavour that we didn't mind that jalapeño's and bell pepper [and maybe some octopus legs? Hard to tell] took up half the plate alongside the calamari itself. My wife usually hates cooked bell pepper but adored everything on that platter. The tartar sauce was just the right balance of creamy with the salty of the calamari too- and the breading was so delicate and crunchy- ugh ! Delicious.
We took an extra 20 minutes to decide on our burgers, [the A.C.E burger tempted us both!] and then another 5 when we found out they ran out of the *grilled* pineapple for the Kona 😓. Heartbreaking !!
But, I had ordered it anyways [beef patty] and just saved a lemon wedge from the calamari to try to replace that bright tartness the pineapple would've provided.
When they arrived they were both very handsome burgers! The patties themselves were so full of flavour and nicely char-grilled i almost forgot the lemon wedge! Both mine and my wife's plates & hands turned into an absolute mess, but we were too distracted by the taste to care. The bacon was so thick and well-cooked, the lettuce was mandalined into nice strips instead of this big hunk of leafiness, the mozzarella was absolutely gooey, and the teriyaki gave me full confidence on the asian-style menu items. We were in heaven. I could tell the Kona didn't necessarily need it, but that pineapple would've added another layer that 100% would've boosted it. It would've made it so much juicier [my patty was a bit dry for how moist the rest was, but I think it would've been picked up by the pineapple]
They also had some very cool side choices; we both chose the veggies & dip, and i had the sesame brown rise whilst my wife got just another order of fries haha! We wished there were more veggies- i think there was 2 pieces each of cucumber, carrot, celery, and bellpepper. It was a really refreshing menu choice to see and they were, as you would hope, really refreshing to eat; we just wished maybe a few more pieces. Maybe 3 of each might do just fine. I honestly want to pick it as both of my side choices next time!
My sesame brown rice came in a very cute 1cup sized bowl, and my wife had an absolute mountain of fries! I wished i got to eat my rice but we were both way too stuffed by the time we got through the burgers & veggies n' dip. They gave us very nice and sturdy plastic containers to take home! We are so unbelievably excited to dine here again. We just might have to come every-so-often with how much we ended up spending 😉
