I can usually find everything in looking for when I go shopping but sometimes the deals they post are a bit confusing and don't match the tags. If the organization was a bit better I would give it a full score. Still a great place to grab groceries, helpful employees and has a nice big parking lot.

- DDDavidSep 29, 20251.0Disappointed by cashier service today – a rare bad experience I’ve been shopping at the Save-On-Foods in Madison Centre (Burnaby) for years, and most of the staff have always been helpful, friendly, and professional. Unfortunately, I had a disappointing encounter today (around 1:00 PM, Sept 29th) at Cashier 1, which I believe was handled by someone named Peggy (not 100% sure). While the transaction started off normally, things took a turn after I politely asked the cashier to place my items directly into my personal Save-On-Foods box, and to leave the milk out. Instead of placing the items carefully, she began dropping and tossing them in, including a boxed package of yogurt. While it wasn’t loose individual containers, it still showed a clear lack of care. When I paid with cash, she seemed annoyed and told me I should have informed her—despite never asking how I intended to pay. She gave me no thank you or acknowledgment, just the receipt and change, and turned away. Upset, I spoke with another staff member nearby, who kindly referred me to a long-time staffer (possibly Jyoti), and then helped me speak with the floor manager (I believe his name was James). James listened, agreed the cashier should be asking customers about their payment method, and said he’d talk to her. While I appreciated James' response, I feel it’s still important to leave this review. This kind of rudeness shouldn’t be tolerated, especially when customers are respectful. I hope this incident is taken seriously — and that the cashier involved receives appropriate customer service training or disciplinary action if necessary. I’ve otherwise had consistently positive experiences at this location, and I’d like to see that standard upheld.
