Our first visit, the service was fine but there was a wedding happening so probably not usual. The food was okay, lots of Cajun items. I had the shrimp poboy which had lots of lettuce, a few shrimp, pickles, tomatoes. I would give it a 6 out of 10.

My husband and I celebrated my 60th birthday here on a Sunday. The jazz musicians were exceptional. We opted for the lunch menu: catfish po boy, fish tacos, gumbo, rice and beans. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The wait staff was attentive. We will return!

You don't have to be a golfer to visit The Hills. Ample parking & several handicap slots also.
Google had a moment and attempted to put us at rear entrance, but you will figure it out
Enjoyed a lunch on a sunny December day 2025. Check their site for specials on food, beverage, fun.
We scored a patio table, the server was prompt, courteous & friendly. The menu is New Orleans cuisine plus many tasty treats to tickle the tummy.

Stephanie was the only server working and she was great. Attentive, friendly, and on top of her game. I tried the gumbo and let me say, being from New Orleans, it was very well done. Too many chefs outside of south Louisiana seem to think that every Cajun dish must be hyper-spicy. This gumbo had a good flavor (nice dark roux), and just the right amount of spiciness to not overpower the other flavors.

We made a reservation for 5:30 specifically for an outside table. We were visiting for our dating anniversary and wanted something nice, and we were excited to check out a local spot we hadn’t tried before. When we arrived and checked in, the host said “okay” and then walked us straight to an inside table. When we asked about the outdoor seating we reserved, we were told all outdoor tables were already taken. That pretty much defeated the purpose of making a reservation in the first place, but we decided to roll with it since it was our first time here.
Right from the start, the service felt off. As our server began taking our drink and food order, another employee walked up and started talking to her. She stopped speaking to us mid-order to have a conversation with her co-worker. It felt rude and unprofessional. When she finally came back and we gave her our drink order (just a Coke Zero and a coffee — nothing complicated), it took about 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive.
When my wife’s coffee finally came out, it was cold and only came with one sugar. We had to wait again to flag her down for another sugar. Meanwhile, we noticed the table behind us, who arrived around the same time, was getting far more attention than we were. I’m not sure why, but the difference was definitely noticeable.
The table we were seated at was extremely wobbly — shaking back and forth so much that I had to brace it with my foot just to keep it steady.
When it came time to place our food order, I asked if grilled onions were possible. The server assured me it was no problem, so I ordered caramelized onions. When the food arrived, I got a pile of raw onions instead. The food itself was good, but dry, like there was no mayo or sauce on the bun. The coffee tasted bland and watery, and since it was cold and clearly not fresh, we sent it back and got a Sprite instead. The shrimp on my wife's Po'boy was very good.
Throughout the meal, it felt like we spent more time trying to get the server’s attention than actually enjoying our food. She rarely checked on us, and even when we were ready to wrap up, we had to flag her down multiple times — once for a box, and again to ask whether we were supposed to pay at the table or up front. Even then, it took a while to actually get the bill settled.
Overall, the whole experience was disappointing from start to finish — especially since we came for a special occasion and genuinely wanted to enjoy a nice night out. Between the reservation mix-up, the inattentive service, the mistakes with our order, and the general lack of attention, it left a really sour taste in our mouths. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the first impression we were hoping for.
