What started as a small independent restaurant, has transformed into a popular family business. Nico’s was founded by Nicolas Moran Carreon in San Diego, and in 1993, his brother Prieto opened the first Nico’s in Arizona. Today, 23 locations can be found scattered across San Diego and Arizona.
Nico's picture rocks is the most recent and most young owned location. The owner, grandson René Carreon opened this location in October 2024. While this Nico’s has a smaller menu, it features a lovely outdoor patio area where you can enjoy your meal. At Nico’s Express, you can dine in, order takeout, or use the drive-thru. Whenever you’re in the Picture Rocks area, be sure to stop by this location!
