Going to Portillo’s in Chicago was a core part of my childhood and was ecstatic to show this location to my wife! She now loves it, too. Between the veggie-forward Chicago dog to the chocolate cake shake, they’re good food for all! Make sure to enter through the turnstile for the ultimate experience!

What a special place! My wife and I love going here. The atmosphere is amazing, as is the food! Chicago dogs are better than Sonoran dogs😤 The workers are very friendly and the bathrooms are clean. Misters in the summer mean you can sit outside (although the inside is much more fun!

I ordered food for myself and my daughter and about making it home so that if we were missing our fries. I called the store and the guy told me that he'd relay this message to management and placed me on hold. After waiting on hold for almost 10 minutes the same guy got on the phone and said to please continue to hold that the manager named Ray would be with me shortly after dealing with other customers. He then placed me back on hold for almost another 10 minutes until someone picked up the phone and just hung it up without saying anything. After calling back several times, they seem to refuse to answer the call or hear my complaint

Being a Chicago native and not having lived there for over 15 years, I was excited to have the opportunity to visit Portillo’s while in Tucson. Their beef and chopped salad bring me back to my childhood. However, I have to comment on the level of trash created at this store. When you order eat-in at a Chicago restaurant, your salad is served in a ceramic bowl, and your sandwich is wrapped in ONE bag. My husband and I ordered a beef sandwich (wrapped in foil, a plastic bag, and then put in a paper bag), an Italian beef bowl (in a plastic container, wrapped in a plastic bag, and then put in a paper bag), and a chopped salad (in a plastic container inside a plastic bag, and the bread for it was wrapped in paper and put in a paper bag) and then all of that was put inside a larger paper bag. This would be overkill for take-out, but for eat-in, it was incredibly unnecessary. My husband brought all of the bags (after they went about 20 feet from the counter to our table) back up to the counter and told them to reuse them and not throw them away. They didn’t say a word. I mean, SEVEN bags and 2 plastic containers for an eat-in meal that went 20 feet from the counter to table??? That’s an insane amount of waste, not to mention cost that is getting passed on to the customer!!! I really hope this restaurant changes its practices.

We are from the Midwest and used to the original Portillo's in Chicago and let me tell you, this is nothing like it in a very not positive way. The serving sizes are like kids meals. Everything was dry. The beef was dry. The sandwich was dry. And the literal handful of onion rings were dry. I guess we're going to have to wait until we go back to the Midwest and visit Portillo's there Because quite frankly, this ain't it!
