A really nice place I’ll definitely visit again. After finding out that two of my favorite places were closed on Monday, I did some online searching for seafood restaurants that were highly rated. After finding Cruda and looking at their menu, I thought this place would fit the bill, and it definitely did. Located in downtown Tucson, a place I don’t often visit, we found easy parking directly across the street, which also had the virtue of being very affordable: only four bucks for our visit.
We started out with spicy tuna poke nachos, which had good quality fish, and really excellent chips. One of the people in our group had the Molcajete Frios with shrimp and asked for it in the mango habanero aguachile style, which was spicy, but not as spicy as you might expect with the word habanero included in there. 🌶️ This was basically a type of ceviche, served in a distinctive Molcajete bowl. Enough spice to make it interesting, but if you were expecting something crazy hot, this was not it. I tried some and the flavor was good, but the shrimp definitely needed to “cook“ more in the citrus, as they were more raw than you would expect or that most people would enjoy, which might have been because we arrived later in the evening, an hour before closing, and they were not able to let it sit as long as it should have? It was still tasty, but would have definitely benefited taste and texture wise from a longer immersion in lemon or lime juice.
Another person in our group got the Ahi tuna tostadas, which included a generous amount of avocado and two tostadas piled high. Much like with the poke nachos, the tuna was very tasty.
I got the Filete Divorciado, which was red snapper divided (hence the word Divorciado) into two portions, each with a different sauce. (reddish Culichi and green Bucanero) I personally favored the half with Culichi sauce, and this is one “divorce” you can really get behind! 😂 The fish was perfectly cooked, and both of the sauces were excellent. It included a small bowl of vegetable rice, which was a nice accompaniment.
A couple of us had the margaritas, which were excellent and affordable. Although downtown Tucson is a pain in the butt to drive around, the location of this restaurant and the handy parking garage made it a joy to visit, and if you enjoy Mexican seafood, this place is not to be missed!

Showed up for a reservation last night. There was one server working and about 8 tables. We waited 15 minutes but never received any service, so we left. Too bad. Looked like a nice restaurant and was excited to try it, but had to be somewhere so couldn't wait around forever.
