So I had to eat the beef just on a plate.. very disappointed

Apparently, the same people that maintain the milkshake machines at McDonalds also maintain Portillo's. It wasn't working. So, I ordered a hot dog, fries and an iced tea. The hot dog was great (the only part of the meal that was). The fries were cold. The iced tea, sadly, wasn't. It was room temperature and there wasn't a single cube of ice in the cup. "Ice Tea" implies ICE in my book. Apparently, the ice machine and milkshake machine are linked somehow. I tried writing to corporate about this, but they don't care enough to respond. Very disappointing - will not be returning.

Some of the touchscreens weren’t working and Luis, the cashier, seemed annoyed that we walked through the crazy maze of a line they had set up to order from him instead.
