I went to Cava — yes, that Cava, the Greek Chipotle of our generation — expecting a respectable bowl and the usual internal debate over whether I deserve double protein.
I did not expect Avory.
Let me clarify: I am a rational man. I assemble fast-casual bowls with clinical precision. I choose my base (half greens, half rice), evaluate my dips like a sommelier of hummus, and move down the line with discipline.
Then Avory asked, “What can I get started for you?”
And suddenly, I was no longer in a Greek Chipotle. I was on an odyssey.
With the confidence of someone who has studied under ancient masters of bowl architecture, Avory guided me through the line. “Roasted vegetables?” Yes. “Tzatziki?” Obviously. “A little extra feta?” Say less. Each scoop landed with the accuracy of a seasoned engineer and the compassion of a trusted counselor.
My wife and I had been arguing for weeks before this visit. Minor disputes. Whether we need more throw pillows. Whether “just one more” houseplant counts as a lifestyle choice. Whether I actually need garlic sauce on everything (I do, and Avory understands this).
We stood in line at Cava in strained silence.
Then Avory built our bowls.
Not made. Built.
Layer by layer, Avory constructed what I can only describe as a Mediterranean peace treaty. When Avory suggested a drizzle of hot harissa to “balance things out,” my wife and I locked eyes. That was the moment. Balance. That’s what we’d been missing.
We sat down with our bowls — towering monuments of flavor and structural integrity — and something shifted. The chicken was tender. The pickled onions snapped with purpose. The pita was warm in a way that felt intentional. We started talking. Actually talking. About goals. About patience. About maybe starting a family in a home where extra feta is never questioned.
Halfway through my bowl, I knocked over my fork like a fool. Before shame could consume me, Avory appeared with a replacement and a nod that said, “We rebuild.”
Reader, that nod rebuilt my marriage.
Two weeks later, my wife went into labor. I won’t claim Avory personally entered the delivery room in a Cava apron radiating calm authority. What I will say is that the composure I witnessed behind that serving line prepared me for fatherhood.
When the nurse asked if I was ready, I channeled Avory assembling a perfectly portioned bowl under pressure. Steady. Decisive. Extra sauce on the side.
Our firstborn will likely be named Feta. Or Avory.
Five stars. Cava is excellent. It is the Greek Chipotle we deserve. But Avory is the reason civilizations thrive. If Avory ever starts a loyalty program for life advice, I will sign up immediately.
Go for the customizable bowls. Stay for Avory.

Even though I saw many people walk in due to it being next to ASU. I realized that they really took care of everyone quick and efficient. I had a great visit here! Ava really helped me out she’s a strong worker and I can tell she’s very experienced. I will for sure be coming back :)

I tried first time cava, and I love it. I think it's all about what dips and sauce you choose, the combination of that has to be perfect for the better taste. I like the falafel bowl, It was good.

Overall, a mixed experience. The lamb meatballs were unfortunately served raw, which is a serious miss and impacted the meal. That said, the flavor profile of the dish was excellent — well-seasoned and clearly crafted with care — which is why I’m still giving this visit 4 stars.
With better attention to execution in the kitchen, this could have been an outstanding experience. I’d be willing to return and give them another chance.

Cava was such a great experience! The food tasted amazing and everything was super fresh and flavorful. We tried the honey chicken and it was delicious — perfectly sweet with the right amount of seasoning. The bowl with fresh rice and veggies was also really satisfying and tasted so clean and wholesome. Overall, everything was fresh, filling, and honestly just really good. Definitely a place we’d go back to! Alex was also super sweet and kind to us on our visit! She made sure we were well taken care of!
