We were genuinely impressed with the food at Bangkok Grill. Every dish was full of flavor and stayed true to authentic Thai cuisine. We typically order medium spice, but since the restaurant uses traditional Thai spice levels, we ordered slightly milder—and ended up being just right for our taste buds.
We ordered the Basil Fried Rice (with egg added), Panang Curry with Chicken, Tom Kha Soup, Spicy Edamame, and Shrimp Tempura. The Tom Kha was a bit different from what we’ve seen at other Thai places—it had a more broth-like consistency rather than the rich, milky texture we’re used to—but the flavor was absolutely superb. We ordered the full pot, and it came beautifully served over a small coal burner to keep it warm throughout our meal.
Similarly, the Panang Curry wasn’t as creamy as other versions we’ve tried, but the taste delivered perfectly. The Basil Fried Rice was delicious, especially with the egg added in. The Spicy Edamame was fairly simple—regular edamame sprinkled with crushed chili flakes—but still enjoyable. The Shrimp Tempura was light, crisp, and tasty.
The Thai Tea was excellent, with the perfect balance of milk, tea, and sweetness. We also tried the fresh coconut they had just received from Thailand—it was refreshing and reminded us of the coconuts found in Pakistan and India, where you can drink the water and then scoop out the tender white flesh to enjoy with it.
Overall, we loved our experience and look forward to coming back. The fact that all the food is zabiha halal—meaning the meat has been slaughtered in a compassionate, ethical, and clean manner—was a big plus. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the menu also includes items like chicken sandwiches, Philly cheesesteaks, and a great selection for kids. I did notice there was a surcharge for to go boxes which I’d never see before at any restaurant so just a heads up.
Thank you, Bangkok Grill, for staying true to authentic Thai flavors while offering something for everyone!
