Absolutely terrible customer service.
After realizing I had forgotten my physical ID, I politely asked if my digital Arizona Drivers License from my Apple Wallet could be used to purchase alcohol.
Instead of a simple explanation, the employee responded in a raised voice, stating that it was illegal. The interaction quickly became uncomfortable, and when I mentioned that a simple “no” would have been sufficient, she loudly repeated “NO” in a way that drew attention from others nearby.
As someone in my mid-thirties, I wasn’t trying to circumvent any rules… just asking a reasonable question. I completely understand if digital IDs aren’t accepted, but the way this was handled felt unnecessarily confrontational and embarrassing.
I hope management can address how customer concerns are communicated in the future, as this experience has made me hesitant to return.

I think this is the Albertsons on Grand. They could make it alot easier to find the sale items. It is also in a very busy parking lot shared with many businesses.

The last few times I’ve gone to this location I’ve dealt with the same disrespectful woman in the self checkout lane. The first time I was there with my wife. I tried putting an item into the item search and it wasn’t showing up, so I clicked the “help” button. I waited patiently and looked over to the person helping with self checkout just so that they could see I needed assistance. She walks over and rudely says “why are you staring at me? Do you want something?” I told her I was having trouble finding the item in the search. She does it, then walks off saying “I don’t know why you were staring at me, that was intimidating”. Mind you, I was just standing there with my wife and I hadn’t uttered a single word aside from letting her know I couldn’t find an item in the search bar. However, I’m non-confrontational and assumed that maybe the worker was having a bad day, so I decided to let it go.
The second time I go in there I’m purchasing wine, and the self checkout goes off because they need to check my ID. The wine came with a coupon and I placed it off to the side after I scanned the wine. She comes over to look at my ID and says “why do you have that coupon over there? Are you saving it for later or something?” On its face that’s not nearly as rude as the first encounter we had, but still her attitude and demeanor was incredibly hostile. I just looked at her and showed her my ID and she walked away. I’m not the type to write reviews, but I was really thrown off by the attitude of that worker.
I’ve worked retail before and understand that sometimes dealing with customers can be stressful, especially if they’re rude. But I have never seen an employee act that way towards someone that isn’t being hostile in the slightest and simply looked over at them for assistance. The store itself is nice and I’ve had no issues with this location in the past whatsoever aside from this past week.
