The food and service were fine, but the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was very concerning. The ceiling fan above our table was covered in thick dust, and the area next to our table was visibly dirty (see photo). It’s hard to enjoy a meal when basic cleanliness appears to be neglected. Management should seriously reconsider their cleaning standards.

Waiter took our drink order immediately then disappeared until it was time to pay. Our drinks were all gone before we could even give our food order. Then when food did come out, 1 of our 4 guests didn’t get his food for an additional 40 minutes after the rest of the table was served. Everyone was ready to go and his food hadn’t even arrived. He ordered 3 simple rolls. When staff was asked, they said it’ll be out soon. Mind you, the staff we did ask wasn’t even our server because he disappeared. Our waiter took our drink order and brought us the check, that’s it. We had to ask staff for someone to please take our order. Terrible experience and the last two visits were very similar.

Overall the experience was not good for the price. I got the salmon skin roll and the truffle salmon. The sauce that is used on the truffle salmon was interesting but not in a good way and the salmon skin roll was way too bland. We also got the brussel sprouts and edamame. The brussel sprouts were actually pretty good but the edamame was bland as well. I have been to multiple sushi places where the edamame is nicely seasoned. My wife got a thriller roll and the sauce used on that was not good. I don’t leave a lot of reviews but overall did not like the food. The service was good so no complaint there. I think for the price it could have been a lot better.

Anyone leaving this place more than a two-star review is trippin. The hype around this spot is wild. The atmosphere is beautiful — I’ll give them that. It’s a really cool place to sit, the vibe is nice, and the music is good. But let’s be honest… that’s mostly what you’re paying for.
The sushi itself is honestly pretty gross. They’ve got a bunch of rolls with super fancy names and random ingredients thrown together that just don’t work. It feels like they’re trying way too hard to be “creative,” and the actual sushi quality gets lost in the process.
If you want to sit somewhere trendy and listen to music, this might be your spot. But if you’re actually looking for good, authentic sushi, you’re not going to find it here.
For me, the real move in Surprise is Ugly Tuna, and after trying this place I definitely won’t be cheating on them again with this crap.
