Let me start this off by saying this is in no way a reflection of the kind gal who ended up coming in. She’s been there a few times I’ve visited and she’s such a gem. But… on Monday, February 9th at 7:30am, I ordered several items for pick up for my fiancé and I before work, which I’ve done several times now, given they open at 7am. I arrived at 7:50am and proceeded to walk in the front door (the door was unlocked, this is an important detail) along with a DoorDash driver who was picking up someone else’s order.
To our surprise, the inside was pretty much pitch black. Given it was an hour past open, we called out a few times to make sure someone wasn’t hurt, but it was clear we were the only ones there. Mistakes happen, so the DoorDash gal began calling the non-emergency police (as we were worried about leaving an unattended business that was unarmed), while I called other locations to see if they could contact the manager. I finally got in touch with a location wayyyy out in Scottsdale that said they would get in touch with the manager (five prior locations I called would not pick up the phone). Thank the lord! Well, as we are calling, the police show up.
Tell me why the manager “allegedly” called the police because she saw us on the cameras. I would assume she would have also been able to see the building was unarmed and no one was there. Beats me why she wasn’t showing up to their unarmed business rather than leaving everyone under the impression we had ill intentions (at least that’s how it was relayed to me). But nonetheless, the cop at least thought the scenario was pretty funny given we obviously were there for smoothies and not to commit a full-blown heist… LMAO. I have no idea WHY she would have thought this. Myself and the DoorDash driver are EASILY the least intimidating looking people, LMAO. She couldn’t tap into the audio and hear us calling other people to try and help them out…?
Anyways, this entire scenario was BEYOND odd. I ended up getting my order about an hour past when I was supposed to. I was NEVER given a single apology, a refund, nothing. They acted as if this was our fault… or as if we were the inconvenience here… lmao WHAT…?
I would genuinely love to speak to the manager and rectify this situation, but unfortunately she was MIA as well this day. So freaking odd. I don’t think I’ll be visiting this location again, which is such a shame given I’m so close to it.
Just weird, weird vibes here. Beware…
