  Very disappointed with our recent visit. Their Instagram has multiple advertisements for an extra large hotdog for the Spring Training season which I was super excited to try. I could find anything on their website or Instagram listing times when they serve the hotdogs. When we arrived to try the hotdog before our spring training game we were notified that this menu item isn't served until lunch at 3pm. Our spring training game was at 1pm so timing for this special didn't make sense and was extremely disappointing. In addition, someone from our party attempted to order a yogurt bowl and was informed that they ran out of yogurt after everyone else at the table received their meal. They were told their beer would be comped, but it wasn't. Overall, this wasn't a pleasant experience and I wouldn't go back.

  We came across Dodo Bird while looking for somewhere new to eat, and the food looked amazing online. I’m glad we decided to try it because the food itself was delicious. When we first arrived around 1:50 PM, we were told the kitchen was about to close at 2 PM for an hour while they switched from the brunch menu to the lunch/dinner menu. Unfortunately, this wasn’t listed anywhere on their Google hours or online. If we had known, we would have planned our visit differently. It was a bit disappointing since we had come specifically to try the restaurant, but we found something to do and came back after the hour. When we returned, we ordered the wagyu burgers, which were fantastic and definitely lived up to the hype. I was debating whether to order a drink when our waitress mentioned their “adult happy meal,” which includes an alcoholic drink. I asked what drink options were available, and she began listing several, including an espresso martini, which sounded great. She then asked if I wanted Bailey’s in it, and I said yes. At no point during the ordering process was any additional charge mentioned. When the bill came, we noticed there was an extra $10 added to the drink — $5 for the espresso martini and $5 for the Bailey’s. If certain drink options come with an upcharge, that should really be communicated when ordering so guests can make an informed decision. It's only $10 but it's the principal. The drink was presented as part of the meal, so the extra charges felt misleading. Overall, the food was very good (especially the wagyu burgers) and the concept of the restaurant is fun. However, clearer communication about their kitchen hours and drink upcharges would have made the experience much better. Because of how misleading the situation felt, it unfortunately left a negative impression, and I can’t honestly recommend the restaurant.

  Everything is really fun about this place….except the food is always hit or miss. We came in on Wednesday and the espresso machine had apparently blew up over the weekend but the bartender made a version of an espresso martini that worked. They were out of Jack Daniels AND out of Diet Coke so we were one and done. The new bolognese was incredible but the wings were not. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  The Burger was great fries also good. Got the wings in 2 different flavors and they were underwhelming. Now the bad got the Mac and Cheese and it was not good at all. Sauce was very thin and watered down. Noodles were under cooked as well. The waitress was very apologetic and took it off my bill. Now the worst part as I was paying for my food a man came up and talked to our waitress and asked what she did with the Mac and cheese and she said she tossed it out then he replied oh threw it away already well after your done here please come to the back and explain why you did that. One why was it a problem and two why have that conversation in front of paying customers? Would not go back just for that reason because our waitress was great and was very attentive.

  Dodo Bird is truly a diamond in the rough. The restaurant is absolutely adorable with eclectic décor that immediately catches your eye. The lighting resembles delicate dandelions, the rich shades of green throughout the space feel warm and inviting, and the walls are filled with fun, unique mirrors that add so much character. We made a reservation and were greeted right away and seated immediately, which was a great start to the evening. One thing to note the menu options were quite different from what’s currently shown on their Instagram and website. Unfortunately, several items weren’t available due to a shipment not arriving that day, including the cauliflower appetizer, shrimp, and iced tea. That was a bit disappointing, but they do seem to offer specials almost every day of the week, which is nice. The steaks at our table were all cooked perfectly to order and seasoned really well. Just before our food arrived, we were told that a shipment had come in and we were now able to order the shrimp after all, which was a pleasant surprise and appreciated. The drinks are cute and thoughtfully presented, the service was good, and the kitchen delivered our food in a timely manner. One unexpected and fun feature is their game area with skeetch ball, darts, and basketball. It’s not something you’d expect in that type of ambiance, but it made for a really fun after dinner activity. Don’t let the location deter you from trying this spot, it’s definitely worth checking out!
