I was really saddened by my experience at Catch Scottsdale. I had been looking forward to coming here for months, and unfortunately the visit fell far below expectations. From the moment we were seated, our server seemed to forget about us. It took about twenty minutes just to receive our drinks, and after they arrived, we were completely forgotten for another forty-five minutes. We watched the table next to us get their appetizers and entrees while we were literally just sitting there with nothing. My friend was only drinking water, so she had nothing to enjoy during the long wait. Our server did eventually apologize and was very sincere, and we appreciated that. We ordered a few appetizers and entrées, the food was fine but definitely not the level I expected. The famous Catch Roll that so many people rave about was honestly a 6/10 for me, and the filet I ordered was disappointing. It’s supposed to be served with a specific sauce I was really excited to try, but it arrived completely plain with only tomatoes on the vine and a shishito pepper. The biggest issue came when my friend found a hair in her pasta. She had loved the dish up until that point. Even with the long waits and the hair in the food, nothing was comped, not even an appetizer. We later emailed management, hoping for a more thoughtful response, but all we received was a generic apology and a suggestion to “try them again.”

From the moment we arrived we had exceptional service. The hostess station had a ton of help and they were all very friendly. We waited for a minute in the bar area and then were sat in Eric’s section. Eric was phenomenal in his overall attentiveness and recommendations. We had the madai crudo, catch roll, surf and turf roll, waygu gyoza, crispy cauliflower, spicy gigli, truffle mushroom spaghetti, wagyu fried rice (add the lobster), fries, and asparagus. Everything was PHENOMENAL, but if we had to pick our top three is was the catch roll, truffle mushroom spaghetti, and wagyu fried rice w/lobster. The attention to service was top notch. We ordered sparkling water and someone came by with a tray of citrus fruits, mint and cucumber for our choosing. We started with mocktails - the lychee martini was delicious. The som helped us select a wine for our dinner. About midway through the meal our food stopped flowing out as it had been (in a steady pace), and I noticed how bussers and assistant started to take notice and clue Eric in to it. He stopped by the table and addressed it and then within a few more moments more food arrived, delivered by the manager. The stall in food was handled SO well and we never had to tell them we were waiting. We had the vegan pistachio cheese cake and the strawberry shaved ice (highly recommend) for dessert. Both very good. At the very end Eric brought over mini espresso martinis for the hiccup with the food and when he found out one of us wasn’t drinking offered to bring something else. The entire experience was just top notch and we will definitely be coming back. Total bill for 4 people w/one bottle of nice wine was $800+ (before tip). Well worth it for this amazing culinary experience.

We typically go to Maple and Ash, Ocean or Steak 44 or something like that for special occasions. We decided to give Catch a try and we’re amazed that we like it almost better than all the previous mentioned. Service was phenomenal. You didn’t feel overwhelmed like some of the others make you feel constantly coming by with helpers. The portions were perfect where you didn’t feel like you had to finish it and didn’t feel bad not taking it home. And I’ve never had a rendition of bang bang shrimp that was this crispy. We even had enough left over in my fictitious birthday budget for my wife to go back to the mall and grab some items as LV! I forgot to mention never been offered to “coat check” my shopping bags. Very nice treat. Top service, better food and got right in even when it was packed. Thanks Catch!

Came to in to dine at the bar lounge for a friends birthday. We were a bit disappointed they don't offer a Happy Hour but they had a great selection regardless. The spinach salad was to die for! They also offer a bunch of delicious small bites. Some aspects of service were difficult with the waitress seeming impatient with us and taking our menus before we could place our wine orders then disappearing for a long time. We will say it was very loud, hard to hear each other and have a conversation. But the music selection itself was great. Our waitress did bring chocolate chip cookies and a candle for the birthday girl at the end of our meal, but it was odd she brought only two cookies when there were three of us. Would return again for small bites at the bar. Please add a Happy Hour!

First visit. Very nice. Drinks were good. Bartender was knowledgeable and pleasant. Nice selection. Strong wine list. Only open for dinner. Apparently they are looking at doing brunch in the future at this location. We dined In the main dining room. From the moment we sat down we all felt rushed. Server spoke way too fast. While nice, seemed too practiced. No flow. We were regularly interrupted while in conversation. When dining at this level some training in fine dining service may be useful. Please train your staff to not say “working on our food”. Sorry. This is a pet peeve of mine. Seems to me food is meant to be enjoyed. Not labored over. At the very least simply inquire if “I may remove the plate. “. We tried the crunchy rice cakes. Very good. Would order again. Signature Nigiri. Quite good. We had several portions of the Albacore. Apparently flown in from Japan daily. Hellfire roll. Another win. For entrees we shared New York strip. Slightly overcooked. Tender and not as flavorful as I would like or expect for this cut. Miso glazed sea bass was delicious. Sides Asparagus and mashed potatoes. I prefer the thin asparagus. These were large stalks. Mashed potatoes were good. Get two for 4 ppl. Overall the food was well prepared. Dinner felt rushed and not to fine dining par. Would save this for a cocktail and snacks. For the price point we anticipated a better experience. Will try again once they get into their groove.
