- AAAdventuresOfJamesFeb 24, 20261.0Two days ago this store tried to steal from me. They over charged me by $40 by not honoring the yellow member pricing tags they have placed through the store. After putting in my number they only gave me member pricing on a few items and charged full price for the rest. After doing some research and posting about this online (the management seemed like they do this all the time and couldn’t care less) I have found that this store is steadily stealing from people especially the elderly. This store needs to be investigated for fraud as it is very clear that the management is a part of it. After filing a complaint with Safeway online I have not heard back which pretty much concurs that this entire store chain is stealing from its customers. You don’t NOT put in member pricing into the system on accident. These people are expecting you to throw your receipt away at the conveniently placed trash cans by self checkout and the doors so you cannot come back and complain. I got lucky. Check your receipts and start filing police reports until they decide to investigate these people for fraud. I posted about this on local social media and got 100’s of comments from the public about this specific store and their fraud.

I presented my valid Mexican ID to prove I am over 21, but after noticing my nationality, the staff refused to sell me alcohol. My ID is official, current, and clearly shows my date of birth. I felt discriminated against because of where I’m from. Everyone deserves equal treatment, regardless of nationality. I hope Safeway reviews this situation and ensures better training for their staff.
