I tried going to another place and it’s closed down.
Looked on Google Maps and said this place was only a couple of miles away.
I so happy I stopped inside. The bbq ribs were absolutely amazing the collard greens damn. Make the owner was so gracious and love his work. You can tell by the quality of the food.
I will definitely be making another trip back.

Just ordered online for the first time and won't pick up until tomorrow - Great grandson's 5th birthday party for his "village". Have eaten here for 30+ years and food is always good. Will add more tomorrow after eating!!

We were looking for a quick, sit-down restaurant near the airport and we found this, only about 5 minutes away. We were welcomed the minute we walked in. The restaurant felt cozy, but there was plenty of seating. Now, let me start with the star of the show: the fried catfish. My son-in-law ordered it and it was the best thing we had. Hot, crispy and well-seasoned. I highly recommend this. I wanted to try the barbecue because it is a barbecue spot and their slogan is something like, "You don't need teeth to eat our meat!" I tried the 3 slider combo so that I could sample different things. The brisket was, by far, my favorite with the pulled pork coming in second. I also liked the sauce. It had a sweet, vinegar-y taste to it. The pulled chicken... it was extremely dry and lacked flavor. My daughter couldn't finish hers. We also were not fans of the sides. We had the baked beans. I'm sorry, I didn't like them. Then, we tried the Mac and cheese because another customer recommended them. Boxed Mac and cheese at best. Nothing special about them at all. The highlights were definitely the brisket and fried catfish.

Overall the food was adequate, however not worth $25 for one person to eat. I did a online pickup order, they automatically add a 25% gratuity. I adjusted it to 20%. When I picked up my order I'm wondering who gets the $4, the person who Scoops the food into the styrofoam cups or the person who hands me the bag? 🤔 This is a $12 meal at the most. Seriously, these prices are getting out of control.

A friend of mine flew into town. Feeling nostalgic and remembering how much I enjoyed Honey Bear's BBQ in the past I hyped it up.
Pulling into the parking lot should have been the first clue to go somewhere else. The parking lot was comparable to the offroad staging area near the lake. Inside was dirty, workers were rude and absolutely no help, seating area disgusting, food bland, tough, and the sides weren't pleasant.
Ended up getting sick for 2 days, ruined my friends visit, spending $70 for all this.
Honey Bear's BBQ used to be amazing food, friendly service and pride in the whole effort.
Seems to me they have cut corners, worried about profits and ignored the most important factor, the customer.
