  It’s very rare I write bad reviews. But the Panera Bread at the PHX airport did everything they possibly could to earn a 1-star rating. To start off, the experience was frustrating before I even ordered. They have 5 or so self-service kiosk tablets, and when I first tried ordering, it wouldn’t accept my credit card payment no matter what I did. I tried to tap to pay, inserted the card, and even swiped it. When I asked the staff for assistance , a man who worked there was incredibly unhelpful and dismissive. He kept insisting I must not have been tapping or inserting my card correctly (which was not the case). Instead of having good customer service and offering to take my order at the register, he just told me to try ordering from another tablet. I finally managed to order from the other tablet. My order was specific: • HOT chocolate • HOT Madagascar vanilla latte • Mac and cheese cup with bread on the side • Asiago breakfast sandwich (with egg, paid extra for avocado, and specifically stated NO BACON) When I got my food, I rushed to my gate for boarding. When I opened the bag, I realized they were completely inconsiderate of my request and put bacon on the sandwich anyway. Since I cannot eat pork for religious reasons, I had to throw the entire sandwich in the trash. How difficult is it to not include something a customer specifically requested you don’t add? To make matters worse, the side of bread I paid for was also missing. Unsurprisingly, both the drinks I ordered were cold and watery. They did not taste like a latte or a hot chocolate, more wasted money. Between the broken machines, rude service, bad quality drinks, and the fact they couldn’t follow simple instructions; I ended up wasting money on food I couldn't eat and also didn't receive. This was a complete disaster. Will never be eating at this Panera at the PHX airport again. Utterly disappointing service. I’d give 0 stars if I could. Do better.

  I ordered hot chocolate half sweet with extra whip cream and some mac and cheese. I’ve gotten this order in other locations with no problem. The drink was extremely sugary and watery, no whip cream in sight, most likely dissolved due to a small amount. I couldn’t even finish it. The mac and cheese tasted so off and it was hardly palatable. My brother ordered a sandwich without bacon due to allergies and first bite? Bacon. I would avoid this location entirely and go elsewhere. Don’t waste your money and your appetite.
