I know Palma is pretty popular spot so I was very confused when it came to the service we had today (aka a slow Monday). My fiance and I and are management at a craft speakeasy here in Phoenix so I try to give grace when I can, but I feel like the service needs to be addressed. We arrived to our table and we were not greeted until close to 10 minutes in (totally okay, not upset about that) the server grabbed our drink orders and then never came back. I came in for my dad’s birthday to have a nice lunch (the server knew we were celebrating) and we didn’t get talked to again for 45 minutes. The server was constantly talking to tables around us but never checked on our table. Tables around us were getting food delivered who sat 15 minutes after we did. We tried to flag down the server multiple times but he just kept walking by. Finally my finance tried to make contact with the hosts. The hosts saw him waving his hand and then blatantly ignored him. Finally he went up to the host to request our server and when she came back to give us an update, we were hit with an attitude that the server was making his rounds. We didn’t see the server from the moment we ordered drinks till 1 hour after. We did end up getting food and it was actually really good. It just stinks that no one talked to us and felt very ignored and misplaced.

We can hear the first full day of our trip to Phoenix. We were not sure where to park or where to go in for patio seating. We were seated right away because it was not busy, (it was a Monday at around 3pm?) our server was kind and attentive, only complaint was that it took a hot minute to get the bill and a takeout box. It’s quite the hike over to the bathrooms if you are out in the patio. Overall the decor and vibe is relaxing and so cute. The fountains and plants, love it. We each got a drink which weren’t bad but wouldn’t get again, and some food, nothing like that I’ve thought twice about or wish I could get again. For food: crispy chicken bowl- no gravy as described but still yummy? Also the limes noodles which had a good flavor to them. And drinks we had the lychee lowdown, and prickly mojito which we both like our drinks. The vibe and drinks are the reason to go. I’d come here again tho to try the sushi and the vibe is just so cool and unlike anything at home in MN.

We wholeheartedly recommend Palma, a phenomenal restaurant in Phoenix. Their slogan, 'Paradise State of Mind,' perfectly encapsulates our experience. We savored the fresh sushi, smash burgers with salads, and a decadent banana, waffle, vanilla bean ice cream, corn flake crunching toppings with maple syrup dessert. Crafted cocktails, including a handcrafted Mai Tai and a cold NA beer, complemented our meal. The service was exceptional, with our server Neal providing attentive care throughout our date night.

Absolutely loved my experience at Palma! They have an all-day happy hour on Fridays, which was such a great surprise. The sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful — easily some of the best I’ve had in Phoenix. We sat on the patio and the atmosphere was perfect, relaxed but still elevated. The service was excellent from start to finish — attentive without being overbearing. Everything about this place just felt thoughtful and well done. Highly recommend for a casual lunch, date night, or happy hour with friends.

A few weeks ago, my father [who had just retired after serving 20 years in the military] surprised me by flying in to Arizona a day earlier than expected. He asked me to find a great spot for us to relax, share some good food, and toast to his retirement. Naturally, my first thought was Palma.
When I checked the website, I noticed same-day reservations weren’t available. I decided to call directly, and that’s when Salma and Eddie came through in the best way possible. Within minutes, they had us booked and ready to go. Their kindness and attention made what could’ve been a stressful scramble turn into a smooth and special evening.
My father [who’s not an easy man to impress] was absolutely captivated by the entire experience. From the atmosphere and food to the warmth of the entire team, Palma hit every mark. It meant a lot seeing him truly enjoy himself after two decades of service.
Huge thanks to Palma, and an even bigger shout-out to Salma and Eddie for making that night one to remember. You both turned a simple dinner into a memory.
