ABSOLUTELY AVOID: A Disgusting, Unsafe, and Overpriced Disaster
This is not a functioning McDonald's; it is a public safety hazard and an absolute disgrace to the brand. The location at 7th Ave & Van Buren is, without hyperbole, one of the worst dining experiences I have ever endured. I would give it zero stars if possible.
Environment and Safety: Unacceptable
The setting is immediately hostile and uncomfortable. The exterior and the interior dining area are filthy. The seating area reeked of an unmistakable stench of homelessness and pervasive funk, making it impossible to sit down comfortably. Outside, the property is overrun by groups of drug addicts and junkies, creating a profoundly unsafe atmosphere. The automated "no loitering" message playing endlessly over the loudspeaker was a pathetic, ineffectual attempt at control that only highlighted the total lack of actual management.
Service and Food Quality: Failures on All Counts
The service was glacial, suggesting zero interest from the staff in serving customers. Several employees appeared to be impaired or completely disinterested. When the food finally arrived, it was cold—the fries were stale, and the burger felt like it had been sitting for an hour, not prepared fresh. For an establishment that continually raises its prices, serving cold, subpar food is an insult to the customer.
The Bottom Line
The price gouging, the cold food, the rude staff, and the utterly disgusting and unsafe environment make this location unconscionable. I strongly urge the franchisee and corporate management to address this immediate crisis of quality and safety.
Future Customers: Drive Past!
Do yourself a huge favor and drive the extra distance to the McDonald’s at 35th Ave & Van Buren or 7th St & Durango. Not only are those locations clean and offer better customer service, but their prices are often slightly cheaper. This 7th Ave location is actively driving customers away. AVOID.

This McDonalds isn’t in the best part of the city, but to expect the employees to offer their best service on top of being security is terrible. There needs to be security guards hired for this location 100% of the time.

It took almost 2 HOURS for them to make & serve me my carmel iced coffee. . & I said something to the worker in the front several times. . otherwise the manager handled all the complaints / angry people well... but they need help during the day hours clearly!

Might be the worst McDonald's I have ever been too. A ton of homeless in the lobby asking for money. I ordered at the kiosk, it took over 20min for me to receive my food. The guy next to me said he had been waiting for 40min to get his food.

I actually just had to use the restroom here. I am an older lady and I stopped at Jack In The Box to use the restroom on 19th Avenue and Van Buren and they completely turned me away. However, I went to this McDonald's location and I spoke with Angelica the cashier and she graciously and immediately opened the restroom door for me as she could understand that I really needed to use the restroom. It isn't so much that I rate this McDonald's a 5 for the food, because I didn't order anything, it's for the staff and the milk of human kindness I experienced through this individual. Thank you McDonald's for hiring such a wonderful staff member such as Angelica. 💕
