  The same guy that takes the money is opening up your food platter with no gloves on his hand and the guy that’s making a food in the back doesn’t have gloves on either. It’s a lot of diseases and nasty things from touching money. This is completely unacceptable. Food services need to visit places like this.

  It's a nice spot to grab a quick bite. The staff is welcoming and friendly. I had a chicken shawarma with Greek fries and was delicious as well as filling. The shawarma is very fairly priced. The Greek fries, although generous in quantity, was a little expensive for something very basic. Would definitely recommend for a quick economical meal.

Everything I love in an authentic eatery: Great flavors, fresh ingredients, well balanced spices, made to order, in a clean bright space, with excellent preparation, and friendly service. /// Full review: I had been craving a good gyro sandwich for many months but did not know where to go. I was returning home from a not-so-fun eye doctor visit and wanted to treat myself to lift the spirit. I had previously passed by (and wondered about) Gyro 101 on N. 35th Ave a few times previously and today day was the perfect time to stop in and check it out. I decided to dine in. It was after the lunch rush and I was greeted warmly right away (by who I later learned is Muhammad). They have a large but simply displayed menu featuring photos of each dish so I went with the first thing that caught my eye, the Philly Gyro. Muhammad said that I could get the sandwich a la carte but also explained the plate option. Glad I went for the plate because it added a side of hummus, pita bread, and a salad. The gyro meat was tender, moist, and aromatic with spices. The hummus was silky with tahini, very well blended, and not heavy on garlic. All pita breads were fresh, high quality, and nicely warmed. The salad was a generous portion that included cucumber and tomato slices, and was tossed in a delicious dressing. I ate everything on the plate! Very happy that I now have a new go-to gyro spot. So much so, I am going back tomorrow. /// Update: Today I had the rice & chicken shawarma plate which was excellent on all levels and hit all the right notes from flavor, to freshness, to value (two meals worth for me)! Bravo Gyro 101, keep up the great work. Looking forward to returning sometime soon...
