While some things have changed over the last few decades, El Pollo Loco's delivery of fresh, authentic food has not. Everything starts with whole chickens that are slowly marinated in a special recipe of herbs, spices, fruit juices and garlic. The chicken is then expertly fire-grilled to perfection the authentic way - on our signature open-flame grills - then hand cut into your favorite Mexican entrees. We put that same dedication and care into our handmade guacamole, salsas and dressings every day. At El Pollo Loco in Phoenix,AZ, we believe that when real food meets real fire the result is great taste that will keep you coming back again and again.
Mixed reviews on food quality; some customers enjoyed the chicken and sides, while others found items cold or lacking in flavor.

I really love this place. I loooved the chicken tacos but that last time I went there, which was yesterday, the chicken wasn't seasoned and tasted like it was from a can. I've been going to this location for about 5 years now and this time was really bad. I could make better tacos at home.

I have not been here in years and thought i would stop in for some food. I ordered 2 different burritos just to try and they were both dissapointing. The chicken burrito was mostly cabbage with almost no chicken. At 10 bucks, it's probably the most expensive cabbage I've ever eaten. The other burrito was beans, rice, cheese. The burrito was 7 bucks and wasn't warm enough to melt the cheese. The restaurant looked clean. Staff was okay but not great.
