- TTTerryNov 3, 20252.0I just started dropping my elderly mother off so she can get her shopping done. I set her up with the discount account with her phone number. All that worked fine. But… I came to pick her up at the designated time and she and another older lady were waiting to check out. They had NO one working the checkout. It was self checkout only. It I asked the person working at the service desk and she said, VERY rudely, “She’s in the bathroom. What do you want her to do?” Really? So my 92 yr old mother and another elderly lady who just had to wait. That’s the plan. No back up, no one to keep things moving…Albertsons plan is you just have to wait. The employee did come back and things started up again, but by this time there was a line of people waiting. The store wasn’t busy but you just shouldn’t have a plan of only self checkout no matter what the reason. The employee of course needs to go to the bathroom, but you get someone to take her place, even if it’s just a few minutes. This is my first experience with this store. Not good.
