first tried the new Steak Nugget Bowl at an Arby’s in Gilbert, and it was excellent, tender steak, flavorful, and served over creamy mac and cheese. Based on that, I decided to order two full meals from the Maricopa location for me and my daughter, which came to a little over $30.
Unfortunately, the food here was nothing like my first experience.
What Went Wrong:
• Extremely small amount of steak
Each bowl had maybe two medium pieces and a couple of tiny scraps. For a meal, the portion was disappointing.
• Steak was burnt and dried out
Every piece was overcooked to the point of being black and dry. It tasted old, like it had been sitting out under a heat lamp instead of being freshly prepared.
• Barely any mac and cheese
They only put enough to lightly cover the bottom of the bowl. It wasn’t even close to a full serving.
• Mac and cheese was dried out, not creamy
Instead of being fresh, it was dry and clumpy — like it had been sitting for a while before being served.
Overall:
For over $30, this meal was extremely disappointing.
Between the burnt steak, tiny portions, and dried-out mac and cheese, the quality didn’t match the price at all.
I’ve had this same item at another Arby’s and it was great, but at the Maricopa location, I would not order it again.
