  Store always clean, prices are good. Deli is good but was better before Covid. Prices may be a little higher than Fry's on some things; but I would rather pay more for bettrr service and quality.

  Went to the bank inside so I didn't shop in the store. The entrance is like a maze now because of so many people shoplifting it made it difficult just to get to the bank. I had to go all the way around through the cashier area. The bank is near the exit so unless you go in through the exit you have to go through the store.

  Edit: In response to my review from Safeway Corporate, this is what I want to edit and reply. It wasn’t even a busy time as there were other workers clearly just standing around not doing anything. If the regular team member couldn’t work the customer service desk, she shouldn’t just keep saying it’s closed simply because she was at self check out. She should’ve radio the manager to come help otherwise are customers not supposed to get the items that are only available at the customer service desk? Items like gift cards, money orders, cigarettes, lotto etc. can only be purchased there and not through self check out or regular register. You simply can’t just say customer service desk is closed even though it closes at 8pm. The store manager needs to better schedule the registers so a critical part of the store isn’t left unmanned. Original: They wouldn’t have someone operate the customer service desk at 5pm on a Monday because the normal person who works at the desk was on the self check out. All she kept telling me was that the desk is closed because she’s at the self check out. It wasn’t even 8pm then I would understand they’re closed for the day, but at 5pm just because she was in self check out they couldn’t send someone else or the manager to work the desk? That’s pretty pathetic of this store.

  This Safeway is noticeably substandard to a typical Safeway despite being a larger, modern store. This could be attributed to the lousy surrounding neighborhood with its sketchy clientele. I get that it’s difficult to operate a store in a community where people are indifferent to anything that’s nice, but I think that most of the staff tries their best. The perimeter departments have a truncated selection, but that’s to be expected with a predominantly value-oriented customer base. Thankfully, they eliminated a major point of friction by tripling their original amount of self-checkout lanes. I advise being aware of your surroundings as you traverse the parking lot to/from your vehicle. The there are electric turnstiles at the entrance and the secondary entrance is closed at all hours given the excessive shoplifting.
