This spot is impeccably clean and surprisingly well-stocked for its footprint—shelves are almost never bare, and the bourbon/liquor selection is legitimately elite (their whiskey game seriously punches way above its size class; it's one of the best around Tucson for variety and rarities). The liquor manager is an absolute gem: super knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and genuinely helpful every time. Most—if not all—employees, leads, and managers I've dealt with match that energy: customer-focused, professional, and a real pleasure to interact with. Frontline staff (cashiers, floor help) are overwhelmingly kind, polite, and quick to jump in... when you can actually get their attention amid the chaos. That said, the entire store runs on senior-citizen time. The parking lot and aisles pack out fast with slower-moving shoppers, turning what should be a quick errand into a full marathon. Checkout lines crawl painfully—whether it's one person ahead fumbling forever or chronic understaffing during peaks—and the whole vibe feels stuck in slow motion. There's barely room for two carts in the main corridor between registers and aisles—no fast lane, no passing lane, just gridlock. No matter the day or time, it might as well be eternal senior skip day. It's always a brutal test of patience, and I lose every single time. Customer service (phone or in-person) is hit-or-miss at best. Too often it's curt attitude over actual assistance—dismissive tones, bare-minimum effort on issues, or straight indifference. Super frustrating when everything else here is so solid. If they ramped up front-end staffing during busy hours and trained CS reps to channel the same high-energy vibe as the managers and liquor team, this would be a straight 4- or 5-star destination. As it stands, it's fantastic for browsing top-shelf booze and basics... provided you've got the patience of a saint.

It’s ALWAYS crowded. I have to park my cart at the end of the aisle, get what I need and walk it back to the cart. The aisles are narrow which doesn’t. Don’t get me started on that parking lot!

This is nicknamed the "Suicide Safeway" by locals for a reason. The parking lot is a nightmare. People crash through there like they're running from dinosaurs 🦖 Inside is a zoo of people, most seeming lost, and the vibe is angry. The staff, however, seems patient and kind. I only go in if I have to. Mostly I use delivery, it's much safer.
