I shopped on 11/8/25 and paid at 3:01pm. I went to self checkout and the digital coupons were not ringing up. I hit the help button and after a few minutes the clerk showed up. He was the most condescending person I have come across in a customer service position. He was exceptionally rude to me (an upper middle aged man) as well as to the Mother and her teenage daughter next to me who also needed help because of a Safeway created problem. The Clerk was an equal opportunity jerk. The clerk should not be working in a position dealing with people. Safeway do better.

Other than the fact that the prices in general are high, the “great sales” are so complicated to figure out, especially if you’re doing spontaneous shopping, that often you still can’t take advantage of the sales unless the checkout people are willing to help - which in the high season, they often aren’t. I know many others who are refusing to shop at Safeway anymore, for the same reasons. It is NOT senior-friendly!

Produce has gone downhill. 2weeks ago raspberries were mush. Today packaged coleslaw with a week left on sell by actually smelled so bad we had to throw it out. Today ,half the strawberries were spoiled. Would have taken these products back, but ,well you know how the parking lot is a challenge.
