  After seeing this place listed as one of the top five chain BBQ restaurants in America, I had to check it out. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. Starting with the good: I loved the decor and ambiance of Rudy’s. It was exactly what you would want to see and expect - especially from the outside. There was just a good vibe inside the place that made me want to try every meat and dessert they had. Also will a shout out to the staff who were helpful and informative - being able to quickly and kindly answer questions I had about their menu. However, that does lead to the biggest issue with was the food. I got the moist brisket and jalapeño sausage sandwich, coleslaw, and beans. The moist brisket simply had too much gristle and fat on it, causing me to spit out two golf ball size pieces of inedible meat. The sausage and beans were solid, but the coleslaw may have been the worst I’ve ever had. Flavorless and premade days before (the container has a “sell by” date listed). Would I try Rudy’s again? Yes - but definitely go with the lean brisket and a different side. I am willing to give my first visit just a bad experience. But I also would be currently hard pressed to state that Rudy’s is deserving of a top five BBQ designation.

  Average food these days. They only do 2 sauces when most barbecue places have several. Really its the creamed corn that brings us back time and again. Still will be back, but its a long drive for okay barbecue.

  Rudy’s BBQ Country Store in Goodyear was a pretty disappointing experience. This feels much more like fast food trying to pass as BBQ than a true BBQ spot. The food came out cold, the utensils were plastic, and overall the quality just wasn’t there. Honestly, I’d be more likely to stop at Buc-ee’s for BBQ—and that bar is pretty low. If you’re expecting authentic, well-prepared barbecue, this probably isn’t the place.

  Went yesterday for an early dinner and this place was amazing. We got pulled pork ,brisket, ribs and sausage and everything was delicious. I like that they weigh your food in front of you to let you know you’re getting exactly what you pay for sometimes a little extra. Everything was fresh when we ordered the prices were fair and they had tons of drink options. The little store in the front was nice too wind up buying a bottle of Rudy’s barbecue sauce because it was so good. I would definitely recommend trying this place you want to get some good barbecue.

  I was looking for a different BBQ place in the area and came across Rudy's Bar -B -Q. They have an extensive menu of sandwiches and meat they sell by the 1/2 lb. My friend and I went for lunch. Since Rudy's is also a " Country Store" they open bright and early for breakfast ( 6am - 9pm). When you get up to the counter ,whatever you order they ask if you would like a sample of their products. Unusual but in a good way. The counter person was friendly and very informative. My friend ordered a brisket sandwich and a medium order of "new potatoes" with butter. I had a sample of brisket ( lean and moist) . I ordered a 1/2 lb. of moist brisket , a 1/2 lb. of pork ribs , and a small cup of baked beans. My friend enjoyed what he ordered. The moist brisket has a peppery flavor . I added my baked beans to it which calmed down the pepper. It made it more enjoyable for me. The pork ribs were meaty and soft. Very good. Next time out I would give the baby back ribs and turkey a try.
