But lately, every time I order “a coffee with two creams,” the employees automatically hand me an iced coffee, and I’m honestly tired of it. Dunkin’ originally served hot coffee, and for decades, customers simply said “a coffee” and got exactly that. If a customer says “coffee,” how about giving them a hot coffee instead of iced? And if there’s any confusion, it’s simple: just ask, “Hot or iced?” That’s all it takes. Long-time customers — especially older customers who have been coming for years — shouldn’t have to spell out “hot coffee” to avoid getting the wrong drink. Please bring back the common-sense default.
