I placed an order for two route 44 drinks and a pretzel, using the app. The app automatically gave me the drinks at half price, bringing the total to 7.07. I added .93 tip, so the total was $8.00, which I paid on the app, as I always do. The young woman who brought my order gave me the drinks and pretzel before informing me that I still owed $3.91. I was surprised, and I showed her my receipt on my phone. She countered with a paper receipt that she didn't offer to give me or even show me up close. She said, "If you can't afford the food, I'll have to take it back." If was, of course, insulted, and I think she meant for me to be. I said again that the error was clearly on the app, and she said, angrily, that she couldn't help that, and I would have to pay the extra $3.91. I asked for a manager, and she said she was one. 🙄
I should have asked for a better manager, but instead I handed the drinks back to her and tossed the pretzel at her. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have done that. I should have tossed the drinks. Needless to say, I won't be back. I would rather drive 30 minutes out of my way to Greers Ferry for my drinks.
