The food was great! Small crowd when we got there, but we were really happy we stayed.

Think of this as Fujiyama South. I believe both are owned by the same family. Shiki is just not as established as Fujiyama. We've visited Shiki several times, and have enjoyed the food. My wife has her favorite, basil rolls, every time we visit. I usually select a soup. Sometimes she orders one of the hibachi meals, sometimes sushi. I'm there for the sushi. It's almost too pretty to eat, but we get over that. We like to think of our visits to Shiki as a treat we give ourselves. We haven't been disappointed.

Hands down the best japanese, thai, and sushi i have found in Tuscaloosa or in the surrounding counties. What makes this place stand out is the quality and the quantity of food along with excellent service. They truly have a servants heart and treat you like you matter. Highly recommend.

Never left steak on my plate before at a restaurant but this was awful. Noodles tasted synthetic, the vegetables had been frozen and thrown on the grill. Salad dressing was too chunky and terrible. Yum-yum was the worst I have ever had. Sushi shrimp tempura rolls tasted like a piece of fried shrimp covered in white rice. Took my family out to eat and spent 160 bucks on a meal that everybody hated. I hate to do this to anybody trying to make a living but this was God awful.

So good. Possibly the best meal I've had in Tuscaloosa. I can't eat gluten but I called ahead and was told that they could do the hibachi meals gluten free. When we arrived at just after 5pm they said they didn't have any hibachi tables open but could prepare our food in the back and bring it to a table. So, that's what we did. I got steak hibachi and they were able to make gluten free fried rice using gluten free soy sauce. And, left off some of the other sauces they usually include. Even with modifications it was excellent. We will definitely be back. The waiter did say they may be able to make some other dishes gluten free but the hibachi is the safest option as other items use sauces they don't make in house that may have regular soy or other ingredients.
