Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customers generally praised the food for being fresh and delicious, particularly the burgers and fries.

Only car in the drive-they and it still took 10 minutes to bag two orders of biscuits and gravy. Why?!

I recently stopped by the Whataburger on Cahaba Valley Road in Pelham, and I walked away with a mixed but generally positive impression.
First, I have to give a huge shout-out to the trainer on duty. He was absolutely awesome—professional, helpful, and clearly dedicated to doing things the right way.
While the service was a little on the slow side, the food made up for the wait. Everything came out hot, fresh, and exactly as ordered.
Additionally, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant; the dining area was spotless, which is always a plus for a fast-food spot.
However, there are two specific areas where the store could improve:
Safety: The staff needs to be much more careful with mop water. The floors were excessively wet, creating a slip hazard that could have been handled more safely with better wringing or clearer signage.
Management Professionalism: The shift manager should be more mindful of the public's presence when coaching staff. I witnessed him calling out an employee for something that was clearly out of that worker’s control. It’s never pleasant for customers to watch a worker get reprimanded in front of everyone.
Overall, it’s a solid location with great food and a clean atmosphere, but a little more "behind-the-scenes" management would go a long way!

It seem like people in the back weren't wearing gloves most of the time and then only on one hand🤢. Took forever when there was barely anyone in the driveway thru or inside.. too busy playing around instead of working.. would not be back!!
