We arrived at 5 pm and it took a very long time to get our food. The chips and queso was good. The service was very slow. Two of our sandwiches were late to arrive. A good 10 minutes after the others had received their meals. One sandwich was the fried chicken sandwich with spicy mayo. The waitress brought a grilled chicken breast. Overall very disappointing experience.
So I gave one great review when Old Salt just opened and very few tables were occupied. I am providing another honest review after having gone when it was much busier. There were open and available tables and about 10 families waiting to be seated. We sat at the bar. The bartender was polite and friendly and all other servers were busily tending their tables. Ordered a pretzel appetizer and French dip. The appetizer came out fairly quickly; the bartender even commented how surprised he was that it came out so quickly. The French dip? Not so much! Took about 40-45 minutes to get. It was warm, not hot, and very flavorless. The folks around us also had similar wait times for simple things like chicken strips. The place still has a great atmosphere with TVs everywhere. Lots of potential. But the excessively long wait times for open tables and food will be a negative impact and create negative experiences. These are definitely management and owner issues.

The food was awesome. I had the MOS Burger with their fries that were fried sliced potatoes. I could have eaten just the fries and been happy. The burger was juicy and flavorful. My wife got the nachos. The chili that topped the nachos was delicious and with the added scallions and cheese made them over the top. Our waitress was very nice and made attentive. Our drinks never went empty and she always checked on us even though she was very busy. This will definitely be our go to when we come back in the next few months.
One of, if not the best, restaurants I’ve been to in Orange Beach. Our server Shane was phenomenal!!! He always made sure we had refills and everything we needed, he was the best! The food here is absolutely amazing, I loved the Caesar salad and the wings were great.
The atmosphere here is also great, they had plenty of TV’s and they had something for everyone to watch. I highly recommend this place and is definitely somewhere we will come back to again.
My parents and I popped in here for dinner our first night at the gulf about two weeks ago. After our large lunch on the trip down, we wanted something easy and that had good appetizers we could share instead of a huge entrees and this fit the bill perfectly.
I get the impression this is a newer restaurant. It's in a large strip mall and there was adequate parking. They were doing a pretty good business on a Thursday night around 7 PM. The inside has nice TVs and a sort of more upscale sports bar feel. There's a good bit of seating and it's very open. The women's restroom was spotless when I visited it.
Our waitress was Lucy and she did a fantastic job! We felt right at home and she answered all our questions and made good recommendations. During our time there, another waiter inadvertently spilled about four large drinks right in front of the door to the kitchen. It was nice to see the entire team come together to help him and they got it cleaned up quickly and without complaint. Great teamwork!
We ordered 2 pretzels with queso and Creole honey mustard, my dad got the 5 wings with garlic Parmesan and ranch iirc, and we also got the smaller order of "nachos deluxe."
Our food came out in a timely manner and was hot and fresh. My favorite thing was probably the pretzels and queso. The pretzels had a heavy dusting of Parmesan and salt and were super soft. The queso was a great accompaniment. I wasn't super crazy about the honey mustard but nbd, the queso was all I needed. My dad really enjoyed his wings and was appreciative of Lucy's garlic parm recommendation. In addition to the pretzels, my mom and I split the nachos. The homemade chili on top was tasty and a pleasant surprise; I was expecting more of a taco meat vibe but the chili was slightly sweet and very umami and VERY filling. These were definitely solid nachos. I personally would have preferred pickled jalapeños to fresh, but my mom was relieved as the fresh ones don't tend to come quite as "juicy" and it was easier for her to avoid the spiciness (as she's a heat weenie, lol).
Overall, a very solid spot for higher quality bar food with lots of American classics and a few nods to the coast and NOLA. There's likely something for everyone here, and it's extra nice that it's served by friendly and professional waitstaff.
