Out server Nick (taller african American man) was absolutely wonderful. We were optimally placed on his section and then had to move and he came with us. Service was great. Checked on us often. Even allowed us to try A dish that hasn’t hit the menu yet and it was a great recommendation. Will come back just for him

I have previously enjoyed the porterhouse steak at Outback. My wife and I planned to enjoy a porterhouse steak at Outback to celebrate our anniversary. Sadly, it no longer is on the menu. I guess it will be Logan's, Texas Roadhouse, or Longhorn Steakhouse to celebrate.

We went on a Monday at lunch and the restaurant was not very busy. Still they seemed to struggle to prepare our food. Our waitress was very friendly, but didn't pay attention and we didn't see her for awhile. We weren't worried initially because we were visiting with family and not in a hurry. We got our appetizer in an acceptable time and then a great deal of time went by. At one point i looked at my watch and realized I'd been seated at the table for an hour and ten minutes. At that point a server that wasn't our waitress came out to say they were out of potato soup and it would be another hour or the 2 people who ordered soup could change their order. So they agreed to another kind of soup. My husband didn't eat his. Another 15 minutes went by and the waitress came by and realized two of us didn't get salads. She had particularly asked me when I ordered if I wanted the dressing on the side or on the salad. I thanked her and said the side When the salad finally came, it had a lot of dressing poured on it plus on the side. It had the look of a salad that had been sitting out and in fact she stated that it has just been sitting there and no one brought it. I didn't complain because I was glad to get some food. When our entrees were served they were mostly okay, but my fried coconut shrimp looked like they had been sitting around after cooking. The steak was adequate. Everyone else seemed happy with their seafood. My food was not terrible, but it wasn't an entree that I thought was worth over 20 dollars. I've eaten coconut shrimp in several other Outbacks and it's always been excellent. The waitress we didn't see for the first hour hovered while we were actually eating. I think she realized she had dropped the ball. She had looked so shocked when she realized very little had been served and kept showing up after that, saying she had just asked the kitchen to put a rush on it. I thought that was odd, almost as if our order never went to the kitchen well over an hour before.

Ok, server was an expert professional. That's where the good news stops. We ordered three meats. All three were extremely stringy and chewy. The mashed potatoes were barely like warm. This is the last time I'm going here for a long while. Although the service was memorable, she really needs to find a better place to work where the kitchen staff mimics her professionalism.
