Kayla was an excellent server! Came here on 2/21/26 from Destin, FL, and she was very attentive and gave great recommendations as it was our first time at this restaurant. We started out with fried mushrooms, and the serving size was big enough for four people. The ranch that goes with it was so good!
We also got a house salad with ranch.
For our entrée, we split the prime rib and it was perfectly cooked-came with au ju and mild horseradish sauce. The brussels sprouts were amazing, sweet and spicy! We also ordered the sweet potato fries, which I hate to say were pretty bland. It didn’t taste like there was salt or any seasoning on them.
We took a big slice of carrot cake back to the hotel with us-also delicious!
Next time we are in Hoover we will visit again!

Had a small issue where I paid for food and didn't originally get it, wasn't sure how to go about it since it's the first time something like that happens to me, however Sabrina and BJ were awesome at solving the issue. I got my food and it was AMAZING!!!! They were super nice about the whole thing and Will definitely be back and recommend!

Food was solid. We had rattlers (too heavy, but if you're into them they're well prepared) and a filet. The filet was cooked perfectly and the brussel sprouts were crispy but not burnt. Our server was attentive and took great care of us. Glad we tried it out.
My appetizers and salad were very good. My big disappointment was the quality of beef in the very thin 12 oz ribeye. With virtually every bite, I had to remove unchewable steak from my mouth, and I have excellent chewing capability. Also, I do not believe that the medium rare steak weighed 12oz before cooking. It MIGHT have been 1/2 inch thick. No bread was offered as part of the meal, I was surprised by that too.

My wife and I love eating at Saltgrass in Hoover AL. The service and the food are both excellent. I'd like to give a great shoutout to Carla one of the managers. She makes coming in just like coming home, except we don't need to do the cooking, LOL. The bartenders Nick and Angelika both do a great job keeping us laughing as well as making sure everything from food to drinks are exactly how we like them. While we come for the steaks, the Blackened Redfish and the shrimp are both just as good. We live in the Montgomery area but frequently come to Birmingham and when we do, Saltgrass is the place we keep coming back to. There are some great steak restaurants in Birmingham but we come to Saltgrass the most because of the people, food quality, and value for the price. I would recommend Saltgrass to anyone coming to Birmingham or the Hoover area, THEY ARE THE BEST!
