  This is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is always cooked to perfection. This visit was the best so far. Our server, Akki, was ready to help us at all times but did not hover. He had extensive knowledge of each dish and was more than willing to answer all of our questions. I highly recommend the biryani! You also cant go wrong with the chicken Korma. The samosas are always a treat and something I get each time I visit Bay Leaf! They craft their cocktails with care and are definitely worth a try. My favorite is the Cardamom French 75 but, I've tried them all and would also recommend the tumeric Chakra drink!

  First of all, Bay Leaf ALWAYS shows out. The biriyani is extremely aromatic and flavorful and they even have indo-chinese food for people who are new to Indian cuisine and may be nervous about what they should try. All their curries are incredibly delicious! Try the Korma and thank me later! We have not had anything from here that is not amazingly delectable. Even the cocktails are top-notch and the service is 100 out of 100. Akki took care of us and even brought us a specialty crafted drink that was alcohol free so our little could try and he was over the moon once he tasted it. We will be back again and again. Food 10/10, service 10/10, atmosphere is classy but comfortable so you'd fit in wearing your nicest or your comfiest. If you haven't been here, you are seriously missing out!

  Buffet was not good at all, cold food, dry chicken, we paid and went somewhere else to eat. Waste of money.

  I had the lunch buffet at Bay Leaf. It was a real treat. My original intention was to grab a sandwich from the place next door, which I had looked up from my hotel. When I saw this restaurant and realized I could have a whole buffet for only a dollar more, just couldn’t pass it up! As far as Indian buffets go, the standards were offered: dal makhani, matar paneer, butter chicken, vegetable korma, pakora.. etc.. The flavors were balanced and pleasant. Naan was not included in the buffet, but honestly, with so many options and being such a good value, I don’t blame them for making that separate/extra. My server, Tulasi, also added to the memorable experience. She was attentive and thoughtful to guests.. answering questions, being present, clearing plates as soon as they were finished. She was a shining star. All in all, this place was excellent, and I definitely plan to come back next time I’m in Birmingham.
