  This is a message for the owner of this establishment - do yourself a favor and fire EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT WORKS FOR YOU!! This is hands down the WORST Chipotle quite possibly in the whole 256! I live about halfway between the Athens and Madison stores, so I will typically go to whichever one is most convenient for me depending on where I'm coming from. However, after tonight, I will never - and I mean NEVER- stop at this Chipotle again. In fact, I will go out of my way to drive to Madison to get my food, even if I'm driving on fumes! I need you to understand that your staff doesn't give a single crap about your restaurant. Not only are they RUDE but they are unnecessarily slow and completely incompetent. This isn't my first experience with this store but it's my most recent and it was enough to warrant this bad review. Tonight I placed an order through the app and arrived at the time it said it would be ready. There were cars in the 'chipotlane' so my daughter decided to run in and grab the order, we both thought it would be quicker that way. When she walked in she gave the name to the girl behind the counter who responded with a raised index finger to the face and said "wait". Nothing more, nothing less.... just "wait". She was ignored for a long time while listening to the employees gossip about their personal lives. When someone finally acknowledged her presence she was told it wasn't ready and proceeded to watch them make the order that should have been ready when she got there! She didn't walk out of there until 20 minutes had passed. They weren't busy, they just didn't care. In fact, they acted like they were annoyed that we were there to spend our money. So, 20 minutes late is already annoying enough as it is but then we get home, ready to eat, and this food is NASTY!! The chicken is chewy and UNDER COOKED!! Every single piece of it is, I can't even eat it. I spent almost $30 for nothing! I'd have been better off just throwing my money in the trash. So now I'm sitting here still hungry, having to make myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for dinner after throwing away almost $30 worth of food. As a business owner you should seriously reconsider your hiring process and your entire staff!! Edited to say - not only is the under cooked chicken a huge health hazard but the guac that I paid extra for had huge chunks of hard avocado in it. Not only are they using unripe avocados, they couldn't even be bothered enough to chop and mash them?! DO BETTER!

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Started 2026 with a barbacoa bowl at the Chipotle on Hwy 72 in Athens, Alabama—white rice, pinto beans, queso, lettuce, and shredded cheese. Large portions and filling. The barbacoa seasoning wasn’t my favorite, but overall it was good. My girlfriend and I also noticed the sweet tea tasted extra sweet, like it had a lot of sugar. Smaller, newer-looking location with plenty of seating. Great spot for a healthy meal.
