i had the worst experience here today. after reading the other reviews, i can see why!! there was a very very large undercover security officer almost right as you come in and i gave him a smile and nod. he was obviously a security officer. black clothes, not shopping, no name tag etc. I was very hungry and tired when i came in while my new truck was stuck at the ford dealership getting fixed. all i wanted was to shop in peace and pick up a hot snack. he kept on following me around, super close. i am not sketchy looking. i am tall and can see him following my every move. he occasionally whispers in his earpiece, i’m thinking to head of security watching on the cameras. why me??? why follow me around?? very bad vibes. at one point he pretends to shop, putting some fruit in a bag. this man does not eat fruit 😂 then, when i’m at the hot bar, he stands awkwardly close watching my every move even tho im not moving. just ordering some hot food from the deli. is this what the world has come to?!?? how about kick the homeless out of the parking lot or get people to stop smoking right outside the door. Mind you, i’m a lifelong Carr’s & Safeway patron. not any more! i’ll take my business somewhere else… be better.

This Carrs is not a place for people of color the staff and security verbally attacked me before I got inside. Sad in 2025 this type of behavior is tolerated by Carr Gotstein family members and personnel hireing. Upon arrival to the entrance of this establishment security verbally told me to don't even come inside, I was born in Anchorage Alaska at the old Providence Hospital and Raised in Fairview went to Fairview Elementary School Then Central Jr. High due to the bigotry shown me at Romic Jr. High, Graduated from West Anchorage High Jan 3rd 1977 then College Seattle Central University 4 degrees in 4 years Network Engineering, Software Engineering, Web Developer & Designer with a Minor in Database Administration GPA 3.78. I had my cash for the items on my list to purchase but that didn't stop the staff and security from following me blaintly around the store I was so embarrassed after using self checkout and having staff show me where item on my list were located as to insure boosting was not what I came there to do didn't stop them from their constant help an support shame on them after paying and getting my change the same security who followed me around the whole store tried to apologize for his behavior which is unforgettable. Carr's do better please because I have faith in you. Thank you. Allen L. Jefferson

Rude old black lady at the self-checkout this afternoon really needs to learn some customer service skills, or preferably be fired. Extremely unprofessional how she talks to paying customers - calling a middle-aged man "boy" is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Neither I nor my family will patronize this or any other Carr's from here on out.

I specifically came here for the hot food and after seeing the appearance of the food I did not buy it. It was burnt, stale looking, and looked like it would make me sick. The appearance of your hot food made it impossible to eat. After that I noticed an employee being rude to a man because she had to go open the bathroom door. She was mumbaling and complaining that she needed to assist him to open the bathroom door. Over all terrible experience here. Managers must not be doing their jobs to make the location a safe and enjoyable place for customers. That bar has been lowered all the way down to the basement. Right now as a manager reading this go over to the deli and look at your food. Then observe a customer try to use the bathroom. And I'll take a guess and say that bathroom is covered in feces like the last time I tried to use it one year ago.
