Passed thru Provost the other day for lunch. The atmosphere in the place just seemed tense, noticed it right away. There was an old lady who was sitting at a table doing paperwork who when we started to place our order took a position in behind the employees, leaning up against the counter....watching. We started to get our veggies put on when I noticed there were two containers of tomatoes, one full of (thin) slices and another with just a few slices but swimming in tomato juice. The employee started to to take the slices out of the close to empty container and I said "no I want from the other container". This made the old woman stand up. Then I said to put 3 rows of tomatoes on due to being sliced to thin. The old lady now comes forward hovering over the (obviously nervous) employee....watching, not saying anything, just watching.Zero expression except for basically looking stern to the highest level. Plus at cash out at the till, the employee was standing at the register when the old woman comes near her and starts crowding her into the till. The employee kept looking over her shoulder like "what are you doing?" Looked rather awkward. So a couple things...who this woman was, not sure. Likely a Trainer of some sort who if you are going to train on how to make Subs and Wraps...also train on customer service, with a happy demeanor. These employees looked uncomfortable and not at enjoying their work experience. They likely were not being themselves as perhaps they were nervous to make a mistake....for some reason🤔 The other thing...training is one thing but ensuring the food display is inviting (tomatoes) is as well plus we took our food "to go" and my subs bread had "dry ends".🫤 Our drive to Saskatoon makes Subway at Provost a choice place to get lunch. But hey....there's a A&W too.
