Today my friend and I visited McDonald’s - S Ridge Dr expecting burgers and fries… not a live drama show.
We ordered our food, sat down, and unfortunately one burger slipped from my friend’s hand and fell. Accidents happen, right? We went back to the counter politely and asked if they could prepare another burger. We were not asking for it free — we were ready to pay.
Instead of a simple solution, the situation turned into a public announcement. In front of around 20 customers, the gentleman behind the counter — who introduced himself as “Santosh” and claimed he was the manager — started loudly saying that if they replace one burger, then every customer will start throwing their burgers for free food. Apparently, we were part of a master plan to scam a burger.
To make it even more uncomfortable, he involved other customers to explain why we were “wrong.” It felt less like a restaurant and more like a public courtroom. The entire situation was embarrassing and completely unnecessary.
After all the shouting and comments, he eventually prepared another burger. But by that point, the atmosphere was so disrespectful that we refused to take it. We left the rest of our food untouched and walked out — not because of the burger, but because of how we were treated.
What surprised us most was that someone claiming to be the manager handled the situation this way. Leadership should calm situations, not escalate them.
Fast food is supposed to be quick, friendly, and simple — not stressful and humiliating.
Very disappointing experience. 🍔

Today I visited McDonald’s - S Ridge Dr in Okotoks. I ordered a few burgers, and unfortunately one of them accidentally slipped from my hand and fell on the floor.
I politely asked the staff member at the counter if it could be replaced. He responded very rudely and said he would not be able to change it. I then asked if I could speak to the manager, and he replied that he was the manager His name, is Santosh.
Instead of handling the situation professionally, he raised his voice and said that if every customer threw their burger on the floor, he would have to give everyone free food. I was not asking for anything for free — I was simply asking if it could be replaced, and I was willing to pay.
As a franchise owner myself, I understand policies and procedures. However, the way this situation was handled was not professional at all. Speaking loudly and disrespectfully to a customer in front of others is not acceptable behavior, especially from someone claiming to be the manager of the location.
I left feeling very insulted and disappointed. I hope ownership or corporate management reviews this matter and ensures that customers are treated with respect and professionalism.

If you order to go, make sure to check that they actually give you everything you ordered. My kid was very disappointed that they left the toy out of his happy meal.
