Original Joe’s Edmonton - Downtown is a restaurant that welcomes all adults. We have craveable classics for lunch or dinner, down-to-earth vibes and a friendly team looking to brighten your day! Our OJ’s is close to Roger’s Place, home of NHL’s Edmonton Oilers, WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings and plenty of live concerts and other events. You can walk down Jasper Ave. or the River Valley Zoo before joining us for one of our twice-daily happy hours! We’re also close to Government House Park, where the entire family can enjoy tobogganing or walking trails. Best of all, we have a dog-friendly patio that pairs perfectly with good company and good food.
My family and I have been going to this location for years, the food is amazing, the atmosphere is good and usually the service is decent.
Unfortunately, the service my family received tonight from a server and the Manager was unacceptable, especially in a hospitality industry. The waitress came and gave them water and left. Two other tables were seated after them, the waitress took their drink orders and food orders, she walked by and my Mom said “excuse me can we order appetizers” the waitress said “yeah, give me a few minutes”, 10 minutes went by she refilled beers and pop at other tables and didn’t come back to my family’s table. My sister called over the Manager, who tried to reassure them that the waitress was just going to come get their drinks. She informed him that there were 2 other tables seated after them that got their drinks and ordered their food. He tried to say something but my sister who was extremely frustrated by that time said “no, no we’re leaving, do better! This is shitty customer service!”
This lack of service or interest to serve my family who are just as important to a business as anyone else who chooses to eat a restaurant establishment is unacceptable! Do better!

This is easily one of the best patio locations for anyone living centrally. A great spot to grab a drink and a bite during the summer with the access to the river valley right there, it’s pretty easy to get to on foot from government house park, or 124th street.

We went for a nice dinner and our server was fantastic, but we did run into a problem with the food, and the staff was so hospitable, so understanding and made the experience so wonderful that we will definitely be back. I can't say enough good things about this place, the staff here are top-notch and the food is amazing.
