  We visited Montana’s at South Edmonton Common in early April with a group of seven, including a wheelchair user, and had a fantastic experience. The team was incredibly accommodating from the moment we arrived, making sure everything was comfortable and accessible for our group. The food was great across the board—we tried a bit of everything, from ribs and brisket to salads and the antojitos (quesadilla bites). The hot wings were especially memorable—super spicy but really delicious. A special shoutout to our server, Emily, who was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made the experience enjoyable for all of us. Overall, a great meal with excellent service. We’ll definitely be back! This is a regular stop on our quarterly trip to Edmonton with my mom and they always treat us very well!

  We came at 11 am when they opened. We were the first customers and we were greeted right away and seated. Mac was very good and attentive, very pleasant. The food was very good, 10/10 for our orders. Steak was done properly, ribs were fall off the bone and the flavor was excellent. Beef brisket was good also. Wings were very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Highly recommend this restaurant.

  Had the worst experience & lack of communication with a server in a long time: Vanessa was not clear when it came simple food orders. There was a miscommunication in what was ordered, and when the manager became aware of the mistake he sent Vanessa over to tell us they were adjusting our bill to accommodate it. But instead of removing items off the bill like Vanessa advised us … it turns out they only took 20% off the item. This would have been no problem had it been clearly communicated. After that we didn’t see our server again: We waited for well over 20 mins, for her to come back to requests a bill and in the end I had to speak with the front staff to asking for our bill. Eventually Another employee came to tell us she was “so busy.” And brought it our bill. Poor communication & poor service. I do not recommend this restaurant.

  Our family recently visited Montana’s at South Edmonton Common, and it was the perfect choice for a hearty, high-energy dinner. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, exactly the kind of "lodge" vibe that makes you feel right at home. ​The food was absolutely hit-the-spot. We dove into their signature fall-off-the-bone ribs and perfectly seasoned steaks, and every dish arrived hot and packed with flavor. It’s rare to find a spot where the children are just as happy with their meals as the adults, but Montana’s managed to please everyone at the table. ​What truly elevated the night, however, was the service. Our server was attentive, friendly, and handled our family’s requests with a smile, ensuring our drinks stayed full and we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. It’s clear the team here takes pride in their "servant leadership" approach to hospitality. If you’re looking for great BBQ and a stress-free family dining experience in Edmonton, this location is a must-visit!

  The inconsistency got to us. We never know if the wait at a quiet time of day will be over 45 minutes to place a take out order in person or under 15 minutes or if the food will be good or awful. We're done with this location after our last time there. The service time was finally under 45 minutes to order and under 30 minutes for our food, but the take out ribs were dry, cold and hard. The orders of large ribs came with cold half portions of french fries, one piece of corn bread to share between us, warm cole slaw and no napkins. The previous time we waited over an hour to order take out in person, waited over 40 minutes more for the food, but it was delicious and hot food. This was at a quiet time of day too. I still have a discount coupon from this location I can use if I leave a 5 star review but I can't give this place more than 1 star. Chain restaurant food and service needs to be more consistent. We stopped going in to dine because the overhead a/c turns on even in the dead of winter. The a/c blows very loud and very cold. We also didn't like having to get up and go to the kitchen area every time to get a server so we could place our order, get cutlery, get extra napkins, send back cold food, send back wrongly cooked steak, get a drink refill or chase down our bill. This happened every time even though it was a quiet time of day every time. I noticed in the 1 star reviews this has been a known problem for this location for over eight years. This is not a customer problem. This is a management and server training attitude problem.
